@@CarloandSarah I agree with @kevingirard7844 that an Italian language class -- one that addresses speaking, listening, writing, reading -- would really help as well! Most language teachers would say that Duolingo helps a little but doesn't really get you very far.

@@lucymcknight651 Carlo knows as much as he knows - he's obviously not perfect (though certainly better than many first language English speakers these days), so she doesn't need to be, either. That's what we actually did with my Italian boyfriend. Labelling everything in the house with German / Italian words. Works great. He learned German and I learned Italian. And we had 2 days per week in which he spoke German to me and I answered in Italian (our "common language" was English). We split up 8 years ago and back then I spoke Italian quite ok (or the dialetto of his family). Now when I'm in Italy, I might sound similar to Sarah the first days... But honestly I still speak better than her, not having used or listened to the language for such a long time 🙈😅 Italian is such a beautiful language and not THAT complicated! Please Sarah, make the effort and learn it. For yourself and for him. There are even free Apps for that and you only need to dedicate 10 min per day ❤🎉

I learned more from sharing a house with an Italian or two who came to work in my lab. .....including some bad words like when the oil butter burned while cooking or when driving. You (English native speakers) are quite lucky if you want to learn Italian. In fact, English language is the most Latin language of the non-Latin languages 😅 Sometimes you have only to think to the synonymous of the word you are using everyday. Examples: Heaven --> Paradise --> Paradiso Hell --> Inferno --> Inferno Keeper --> Guardian --> Guardiano Holy --> Hallowed --> Sacred --> Sacro Snake --> Serpent --> Serpente Body --> Corpse --> Corpo Awful --> terrible --> terribile 😅

Next time go to the other Senza Gluten BY JEMIKO. It's a much higher end (and traditional) Senza Gluten that the original chef created after he separated from the previous investors. The investors kept the old restaurant (the one you went to), and the chef runs the new restaurant on 10th avenue. They have Italians working at the By Jemiko location, and the food is much higher quality! It's a completely different place. 🙂

You are so cute together. Please try harder to speak this language, because you have Italian roots and an Italian husband, it's a shame not doing it.
