I Surrender All - piano instrumental hymn with lyrics

This is one of those hymns that requires great discernment, as do most songs of praise to God, as to its meaning and significance in our lives. We cannot say, "I surrender all" and give only a half-hearted commitment to the Lord.

Very true; singing lies to God is still lying. We shouldn't pray it, say it, or sing it, if it isn't true of US! Lies and insincerity don't please or honor the Lord, no matter how pretty the music is or how talented the musician or singer is. (Just because something was true of King David or of the apostle Paul, doesn't mean it's true of US! If it's not true of us, we're just parroting someone else's words.) "Trust And Obey"; "I Surrender All"; "If Ever I Loved Thee"; be careful, brothers and sisters; examine your hearts and your ways before you open your mouths...God knows the truth.

I can remember my late Father’s beautiful deep bass voice doing the echo: I surrender all”. I think the song leader would choose this song just to hear my Daddy belt it out… sweet memories of that little Brethren church and the dedicated people who went there… I was saved there.. I'm a Hospice volunteer. I had a client who was unresponsive (for 3 months) until I found a piano (nursing home) and wheeled it into her room, I started playing this song. The woman began to sing beautifully with perfect pitch. I kept playing blending into other hymns while I was wiping away tears. When I stopped playing, I sat next to her and said, "why did you hide that beautiful voice from us all?" She smiled and said, "Thank you young man.".........she squeezed my hand tightly and passed away right then.
