1) it may be helpful to put indicator blocks on your nether portals so you know where they lead. Like sand blocks in the top corners of your desert portal, and slime blocks for your slime farm portal (just on the nether side of things) 2) Honey Blocks are redstone materials because they stick to objects just like Slime blocks do in a redstone build. Fun Tip: Slime Blocks and Honey Blocks will stick to themselves, but not stick to each other. So if you need to use sticky blocks in a row, and don't want them sticking together, you can alternate them.
@silentfox-thewhitechaos82794 ай бұрын
hmmm... comparitor in subtraction mode... well, you can have the output powering a hopper connected to the chest, stopping it from emptying. Then you can set it up so the hopper will only fill the chest when the chest reaches a certain level of empty
@silentfox-thewhitechaos82794 ай бұрын
something you missed. When a redstone power is directed into the side of a redstone repeater, it enters locked mode, which prevents the signal from being repeated as long as the side is powered. So if you put enough of a delay, along its path, you can have the signal loop back to the side of the first repeater and turn a solid restone signal into a pulse of however long/short you want it

Additional redstone information from a redstone nerd 🤓 (also see most to all of Mumbo Jumbo's channel): There are 20 ticks in one second, and the shortest redstone pulse that can be given has a duration of one tick. On the difference between "solid" and "transparent" blocks: "Solid" blocks are capable of spreading power to adjacent blocks, whereas "transparent" blocks are not. If you power a solid block, you can put repeaters next to them and still get them to send a signal. Transparent blocks cannot be used this way. On the subject of powering blocks with redstone: Redstone dust (when sending a signal) powers any block that is directly adjacent to the direction(s) it is pointing in as well as the block beneath it. The same rules about solid and transparent blocks apply. On the subject of redstone torches: Redstone torches can be turned off by powering the block they are fixed to. If they are on the ground, power the block beneath them to turn it off. If they are on the side of a block, power that block instead. Additionally, they power the block above them (if one is there) as well as adjacent blocks. On the subject of pistons: Pistons can move up to 12 blocks at one time. Pistons take one tick to extend and another to retract. What this means in practice is that if you give a sticky piston a pulse of one tick, it won't retract the block it pushed; however, it will retract the block if you give it a second pulse of one tick. If you give it a pulse of any more than one tick, it will simply push and pull the block as normal. In Java edition, there is also the concept of "quasi-connectivity" with pistons, but I don't understand it well enough to explain it here. I noticed this happening with the piston door being made around 1:04:00 On the subject of repeaters: In addition to creating delay and refreshing signals, the amount of delay also determines the shortest pulse that can be sent through it. For example, a repeater set to a delay of 4 will change any pulse from 1 to 3 ticks into a pulse of 4 ticks. On the subject of comparators: The value a conparator reads is equal to the value of the signal of the block/dust next to it. If you have 5 redstone dust by a redstone torch leading to a comparator, it reads a value of 11, not 10. The last redstone dust carries a value of eleven since it is the first one (15) minus 4 additional lengths of block. On the subject of honey/slime blocks: Slime blocks and honey blocks stick to other blocks, but they do not stick to each other. This becomes useful when working around the push/pull limits of pistons. Slime is a solid block, and honey is a transparent block. On the subject of observers: Observers send a pulse of one tick with a strength of 15 every time there is a change in the block directly adjacent to where it is facing. This includes if the observer itself moves since it "observes" that it is now looking at a different block. In the interest of saving those of you who read all of this from only seeing this comment, I will end this here. As mentioned before, you can check out Mumbo Jumbo's channel for far more in-depth redstone guides Edit to add as I've gotten farther into the video: this was mildly painful to watch at times 😂 it's ok though, I'm just glad to see other people taking an interest in redstone

For the secret door, if you are updated to 1.20 you can use a calibrated sculk sensor to create a door that responds to a specific action. I've done it a couple different ways, but I like having it set to open when I put armor on (signal strength of 7 I think), then all you need to to is swap elytra/chestplate and it opens the door. You can set the signal strength by just setting a book on a lectern with a comparator going into the sensor.

You can name the markers, give them colors, activate and deactivate them. Also you can set just a temporarly marker which will be deleted after restarting the game. Also check keybindings for these actions - if needed.

Oh I'm pretty sure you don't need observers for the axolotl lights. The skulk sensors do set off a signal too at least if they're waterlogged. I saw microcosm gaming do a pathway that lights up if you run along it by placing a sensor one block down, waterlog it and then put the redstone lamp on top so when your steps set off the sensor, the lamp lights up.

Axolotl's like to jump out of the water. While they dont die if they cant they do intentionally jump out of the water for it. What probably happened is, due to the lack of a corner block, which is generally recognized by minecrafts coding to be an "adjacent" block, they detected an adjacent air block and begun the "jump" behaviour. Unfortunately the air blocks were obstructed, and they were unable to complete the behaviour. This begaviour apparently does not have a response if its obstructed, meaning they are unable to cancel it. Leaving them stuck in the behaviour. Placing the corner glass cannot cancel a behaviour that does not get cancelled; but moving them seemed to partially kick start most of their pathing. Though they seem to be stuck in the animation still. You should be fine if you pick them up and place them down as long as there are no more adjacent air blocks. Keep in mind im not a dataminer or expert ive never actually looked at their coding. I know the fundamentals enough to estimate what causes what behaviour which is what im doing here.

36:50 The reason the redstone powers the lamp while going up is because it powers the block under the lamp and in turn powers the lamp. Some things get "bud powered" meaning a powered block can power things around it but there is more to it than just that. Difficult to explain fully so watching a video on bud power would help 59:55 If you add 2 powered rails on the floor where you are standing and a block either side you have an auto side to side for mining the stone. Put a minecart on them and power the rails then just look at the stone and mine. You may have done this later on but I will see 😊 1:03:54 The reason it can't push or pull the slime is due to the slime sticking to the floor and roof. There is a 12 block push limit on pistons. Also the reason for the top redstone torch not powering it is because the full block above the torch is getting powered and therefore powering the piston. I feel like I need to get you in a world for a hour or 2 😂 1:23:49 Personally I would face an observer on the bottom of the lamps facing the floor and then just run a line of repeaters under them all on 4 tick delay and make them into a clock. You can reverse signals with redstone torches in a certain configuration that is actually really simple and would help you out a tonne. Where your signal comes into the line step it all back 2 blocks. Right after the repeater that's after the comparator, place a full block and add a redstone torch to the side facing the redstone line. That should reverse the signal 2:35:06 You should be able to do 3 high redstone lights. The middle one will power top and bottom if you added them

To reverse the input at 1:26:20, you could do it in two ways (there are more than two, but these would be the easiest): 1-At 1:25:49, replace the redstone torches with redstone dust, and put a target block (it is important for it to be a target block) under the lamp. This way, the redstone is redirected into the target block, powering it, and also powering the blocks next to it, including the lamp, which reverses the input compared with the torch. 2- This is harder to explain, but a bit cheaper, what you need to do is take all the repeators and move them forward, until they are powering the block that was previously powered by redstone dust, and where the repeators where previously, place redstone dust, then replace the torches with redstone dust and put any solid block under the lamp (dirt or anything solid), and lastly, place a block so that the redstone on the block where the torch was, doesn't go down and move the repeator powered buy the comparator one block further. Redstone = 🔴/ Redstone torch = ❗/ repeator = 🔁 / Comparator = ⚖ / Hopper = 🛒 / Block = 🟩 / Lamp with block underneat = 🟨 / Lamp = 🚥 / block with redstone on top = 🟫 this is the current circuit if you look at it from the top: and this is it from the side: 🚥 🚥 🚥 🚥 ❗🔴🔴 🔁❗🔴🔴 🔁❗🔴🔴 🔁❗ 🔴 ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ 🔁 🟩🔴🔴🔁🟩🔴🔴🔁🟩🔴🔴🔁🟩 ⚖ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 🛒 🛒 and this is the other circuit if you look at it from the top: and this is it from the side: 🟨 🟨 🟨 🟨 🟫🔁🔴 🔴🟫🔁🔴 🔴 🟫🔁🔴 🔴🟫 🔁 🔴 🟩🔴 🟩🔴 🟩🔴 🔁 🟩🔁🔴🔴🟩🔁🔴🔴🟩🔁🔴🔴🟩 ⚖ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 🛒 🛒 And as to why at 1:23:05 the signal is so weak, It isn't because it's sending it for a short time, it's because the comparator is reading the number of items inside of it, which in the case is 1, so it send the lowest signal strenght. I hope this makes sense. I tried my best to explain. but since english isn't my first language, please tell me if something is unclear. I'd be happy to help with any other questions you may have.
