The incompetence of the SAPS is beyond me. My sister was also invaded and neighbours came to her rescue after hearing commotion. The perpetrator was taken by cops and we never heard back from them. No statement was taken, no investigation, nothing. It's as if they gave him a ride to a safe haven. When we tried to enquire we get no response. So basically the victim has to retraumatize themselves by searching for the criminal in order to receive justice. It's rediculously painful and they don't give an inch.

As someone who works in the media, this episode made me realize that every form of crime need to be highlighted , reported about on the news etc. The after-effects are so harsh and painful for the victims I cant even begin to imagine the psychological impact. She went through so much trauma; just hearing the story made my skin crawl - it must have been terrifying. She is so strong and a fighter; I cannot even begin to imagine what I would've done in that situation. I pray for her healing and peace of mind; it is unfortunate that one has to take such extra precautionary measures just to feel safe. The SAPS needs to do better - in terms of the quality of policing (healthier people; people who want to protect and not just doing it for money; fast response & someone always at the phone; questioning, etc) Nowadays, people do service jobs just to get an income but don't even do the job right. They don't value their work, at all. Tbh this is one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to move back to SA. It is unsafe, nje. We are just living by the grace of God there, and the government gives 0 f**ks. What a damn shame.

I am only seeing this episode now. It's so heartbreaking. I have been attcaked on so many incidents in different parts of SA and all I can say is that, with the number of attacks I have experienced, I realised that I am alone as a woman and the protection/justice system is nonexistent. I have gone from fighting 3 men attacking me while jogging at 6am, to a man breaking into my bedroom at 1am while I was naked, to a man jumping off a tree unto while walking in the streets and trying to be raped by 3 men, to men shooting at me at 9pm through my kitchen window, the list goes on for me. The trauma is causes is beyond measure. I couldn't walk infront of a window or close curtains for months, I couldn't jog for years. I still till this day, get a mini panic and fright everytime I hear any sound at night and I need ensure it's just the rain/wind/birds. But that causes anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, etc and it affects ones life so drastically. Our Protection service is by far the biggest failure, honestly my biggest, faithful, effective protector is and always has been God because yeeeiii, I've men physically by myself😂😂

This is so sad but common. When I was in university i lived 3stories up. I was having a dream about my deceaded grandma and the fear from it woke me up. At 01:00 I woke up to a dirty ,druggy man standing over my bed. I had locked my door from inside so it was just us, me in my tiny Pjs. He came in through my window, he must have scaled the walls. I had left small knife on my side table after a night snack. I pulled it at him and he immediately snatched it out of my hand. Then I started apologizing and told him to take what he wants. Funny that night at 20:00 I sent my mom a long text about how much I love and appreciate everything she's done for me. As if I was saying goodbye. How terrible it would have been if I was harmed or died. I decided my life was more important. The man took my phone and laptop then climbed out. I reported to the police, they came that night. Then again in the morning coz I lived near by. The window had his finger prints on the white window sill. I asked if they were going to take them, they laughed it off. They said to come report my case. When I went, the one police woman asked me if I am sure that it was not my boyfriend and proceeded discussing with the others how it could be a boyfriend of mine. I did not even have a boyfriend. Khona why would I make this up about anyone let alone a boyfriend. The disrespect, I was hurt shem. Nothing was done. Just a case number and that's it. I thank God and my ancestors for their protection.

I lost a bro in law, it was so mysterious. I shared this experience with a colleague whose sister had an encounter with c19 as well. Fortunately for her she had a woke Dr. When she was hospitalized for ventilator the Dr said to my colleague please report to me every single thing your sister complains about. The sister kept complaining about how uncomfortable and weird the ventilator was. My colleague relayed to the Dr. The Dr went to hospital, checked the ventilator and found that it was set too high. He reduced it to a comfortable level. This saved a life. To anyone reading this please share with people around you. Covid deaths most of them are negligence, we don't even know if that is strategy but yeah don't just trust ventilator. I could tell lots of stories from info I got through research but yeah let us do our bit to avoid these things and not just trust the system.
