It was a long time coming, finally I had the opportunity to do a winter overnighter, building my own shelter from scratch and sleeping on the ground with fir twigs as my bed!
I felt so at home and comfortable, it was a total blast doing some bushcraft stuff and getting dirty!
My companion for this video was the Morakniv Kansbol Dala Red Edition, perfect knife for the job, there's a written review about it on my website.
/T
Product description:
Kansbol Dala Red Edition (S)
This special edition with the knife factory coordinates on the blade highlights our characteristic Dala Red colour and its long red thread throughout history. It took us years to perfect the knives we make today, because just like you, we know that quality takes no shortcuts. The ergonomic barrel-shaped polymer handle features a soft friction grip, a finger guard, and a 2.5 mm thick, profile-ground blade made of recycled Swedish stainless steel.

Nice shelter build with just a knife. I have never owned a Mora but have heard only heard good things about them. Once I built a shelter and I woke up to a pack of coyotes all yipping and carrying on about 30 feet away from where I was laying. They kept moving so I just rolled over and went back to sleep. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work brother.

The hunter gatherers when they made their tree tents, they also dug into the ground below the frost line. I saw a real one once. I was a kid. It seemed to be huge. Above ground lodges also existed. For what you did here, that is the best time of the year for it.

I moved to Malmö from NL almost two years ago and one of the things I love here is the Swedish attitude towards enjoying nature. Your videos are a great example of that and I find them very inspiring. I love camping and I would like to try some overnight hikes this year. Eventually I would love to walk the Kungsleden but I think I should start a bit smaller. Do you have any recommendations for simple overnight hikes in Sweden? Perhaps Skåneleden? I absolutely love Söderåsen but I guess Skåne has more to offer. Also I'm wondering where to start in terms of gear. I have good outdoor clothes, but no tent and backback etc. Do you have any tips on where to start with this? Keep doing what you're doing!

If me, I wouldn't choose Mora Kansbol or Mora 2000 (their last version) for trips where I need a reliable knife. Because its tang has a very deep grooves near the begin and many new Mora knives (kansbol, new 2000, new bushcraft, new basic 511, new pros) broke in this position. I would rather go with a Mora companion knife (not the HD version) with a mod spine 90° and feel more confident.
@TedWeirum
@TedWeirum Жыл бұрын
I will do a similar adventure with the garberg, it has a full tang, that’s probably the best version for a strong reliable knife :)
@gialuongpham7870
@gialuongpham7870 Жыл бұрын
@@TedWeirum I don't like the new improvements of Mora knives (in the tang of many modele hidden tang). Even their new robust knife has this weakness. Mora company know this, but I think they made deep grooves on the tang for easier to set up when heat treating multiple knives at the same time. Moreover, for the many new plastic handles models , there are joints between the blade and the handle. So the water and dirt can penetrate the tang, in the long term it is not good. P/s: Hultafort knives would be a better choice (for cheaps hidden tang knives).
