I have a Kansbul in my pack, always there as a backup blade, and a Mora 2000 on my sailboat as the go to boat knife. We seldom spark a fero rod on the boat, so the rounded spine is a plus for carving or cutting through larger lines. The great thing about Moras, you never have to choose which Mora to buy, when in doubt, buy them both!! 😊

The Kansbol is my favourite and most used Morakniv. As someone who has a bunch of chickens, except in the depths of winter or when they're all molting, there's always a push to find new ways to eat more eggs: pickling, egg potato salads, pancakes, and recipes like Shakshuka. Fresh eggs from free range chickens are just so much better than the pale yolk eggs you get at the grocery store.

The Kansbol would be my favorite Mora if the Mora 2000 did not exist. The latter is cheaper and its spine is not sharpened, making it more comfortable in use for push cuts. And I like the handle better, but I admit some might say that the Mora 2000 handle is a bit too thin for their taste.

Came here to give a 2000 comment, but it was already here. Agree the 2000 is the better bang for the buck f0r 99.99 percent of knife users. A Kansbol that’s even slicier and dare to say it, Moras best handle ever? If you need the beefy blade and sharpened spine of the Kansbol, take a look in the mirror just once and ask. Do i really NEED it, or is firesteel scraping not worth double the price? Btw, the Mora 2000 IS the original, the Kansbol is a beefier copy based on the best selling hunters knife “two thousand”

Amen. I don't have either Garberg nor Eldris. Went straight for the Kansbol. Bought it unused second hand for 20€. I have a whole bunch of 'fancy expensive supersteel handmade knives', but Kansbol is so versatile, so comfortable in hand and no muss no fuss, that if I could keep just one fixblade, it would be this. When this trilogy came out, there even was a test (quiz?) about your knife use on the Mora website you could take and you got a suggestion which one of the three you should get. It was Kansbol for me.

The Kansbol edge has a factory micro bevel, had a noticeable difference compared with full scandis. Was wondering why it didn't bite as hard as the companion HD, then I found out about the micro bevels. It also needs more finesse to field sharpen if you want to maintain the micro bevels. If I'm using it around the house, this is excellent. But for field use, the simpler straight scandis works better.

As a non-youtuber i actually skipped the Eldris (still think it's silly) and the Garberg originally and got the Kansbol since, unlike the Garberg, it offered something I didnt already have a thousand of. It's so light, agile/sharp and stainless it makes a great knife to just include in a pack or trip especially if boating, fishing, hunting, or cooking will be included. Weighs next to nothing, doesnt rust, and is greatly superior to any strong outdoor knife for filleting fish, processing game or preparing food. And strong enough to he a proper backup for tough tasks if needed.
@snowhusk
@snowhusk Жыл бұрын
I am a person who got Eldris when I learned that they finally made them with all the way scandi. I can assure you you didn't miss much not getting it. Eldris is one of my biggest disappointments so far in this "hobby". My problem with it is that the blade effectively doesn't have any bit of the straight edge - it's all a gradual curve, which makes any job feel funky with that knife. On top of that big rounding swipe up to the tip makes it feel even shorter than it already is. What the hell do so many people find in it is still beyond my understanding.

The orange Bushcraft is probably my favorite Mora. Best handle. Actual finger guard. I had a Garberg but never liked the lack of a finger guard. @@RJT80 Thats just scandinavian knives in general. They dont have finger guards traditionally. Since i have used them so much i personally prefer them that way. I have cut myself only once because lack of guard, and that was when i was kid, and for some reason decided to stab my knife in to some log for some reason. I dont really see how you would otherwise even cut yourself without one other than stabbing something hard, but thats not really what they made for

I personally think it's the best bang for you buck general purpose knife available. The companions are pretty nice for disposable utility knives but the kansbol is so balanced. Wanna know how a well experienced chef would scramble eggs. Well first u need to know the protiens start forming ribbons in the late 60 degrees C. So like 68°C. So gentle heat will keep them creamy and moist. Get a bowl add 2 eggs, 2 tbl spoons of cream, S&P, and grate some parmesan cheese into mix. Add some butter to a warm but not hot pan, add egg mix and cook on low heat. It'll take a bit longer but will taste amazing. Im getting a custom chicken coupe/house in 4 days.

Kansbol is definitely underrated for what it is (especially when compared to the Graberg), In terms of versitility and utility use it is definitely much greater when compares to the Garberg. I make a 2 egg + 4 egg whites (from a carton) omelette with parmigiano reggiano or provolone. Low cal and LOTS of protein. I live in the city but several of my neighbors keep chickens in their yards.
