Hey, I know this video is quite different from my usual content, but I hope you've enjoyed it nonetheless :D Please remember to leave a like, and consider subscribing to help the channel grow 👍 Next video should be a big project again, if I finish it on time. Also, I want to point out that despite not mentioning it in the video, the upgrade has made video editing a lot smoother, and it also sped up the training process of machine learning agents a lot, if that's something you're familiar with.

2:22 if you use 512x512 tiles render will be a lot faster

Yes you're right but as I used the same tile size for both renders the comparison still holds

if you put an GTX 1050 ti and a RTX 2070 or 2080 in the same PC does it work?
@NamePointer4 жыл бұрын
Some software could benefit from it but in order I'm to use SLI (Nvidia's protocol that allows you to combine the power of two graphics cards) you need two identical graphics cards

I switched from a gtx 1050mini (desktop) to a laptop with a rtx 3070 max-P ryzen 9 5900hx Still waiting for it but holy sh*t its gonna be great
@gazaryu2383 жыл бұрын
might be upgrading from a 1050 (not ti) to a 2070 super soon so this is pretty interesting to watch, still no clue what ray tracing is or even if i need it though
@NamePointer3 жыл бұрын
There's a difference between "Ray tracing" (a widely used algorithm to simulate ultrarealistic lighting) and RTX which is Nvidia's proprietary hardware architecture optimized for this type of rendering. It basically means that you can have real-time raytracing (basically very nice shadows and reflections) on games which support RTX if you have one of these cards. Some games support raytracing without needing an RTX card, and most games don't actually benefit from RTX at all, if they don't support it.

@@NamePointer seems like a pretty nice bonus to a good gpu then. Guessing it places more stress on it though? Does it impact performance at all? Thats a fast reply to over half a year old video lol
@NamePointer3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's definitely a plus, and I'd you're not using RTX it's not going to affect your performance. I'm replying quickly because I always have comment notifications on ;)

Low demanding games like RUST brah it's one of the hardest games to run
@NamePointer4 жыл бұрын
It ran fine on my 1050 Ti though... But you're right it's terribly optimized and really struggles on low-ram devices and especially laptops
@umbrellaguy69344 жыл бұрын
So what is better 1050ti or 2070 super
@NamePointer4 жыл бұрын
2070 super, but the important question is whenever or not you'll feel the difference based on your usage. For my usage, it did make a significant difference

@@NamePointer i found a used 2070 super for 400 pretty cheap im thinking on buying it. I cant find any 30 series for the price nvidia offered so im probs gonna buy a 2070 super what u think?
@NamePointer4 жыл бұрын
The 3000 series is definitely better, but at the moment it's extremely hard to get your hands on one, so if you want a new GPU right now and don't want to wait, go for it. It really depends on how soon you need it

I still have my gtx 1050 ti from 2016. It's still going great, I can run 120 fps on ultra settings on all aaa games

What AAA games do you play cuz my 1050 TI sure as hell cant get more than 40 fps in any brand new game

@@robertpaws First of all are you sure thats a 1050 TI? you sound like youre talking about 1080 TI. Second of all I own all those games except star citizen and I have not hit those FPS ever its like 50 fps on the high preset in doom eternal. Not Ultra nightmare high. Odyssey gets you barely 25 to 30 fps in ultra. And its not like a silicone lottery where you are getting 5 or so fps you are saying that you get nearly 4 to 5 times the normal performance? Thats a lie a very bad one at that
