2 years ago I made the switch to the Apple Ecosystem almost entirely. Here is my overview of the ecosystem and how I use it. Hopefully it will help you decide if it's right for you.

I have all apple products iPad, iPhone 13, 27 inch iMac, watch se, Apple TV, air pods pro, I like how they all talk to each other, all your emails are on each device, you can send photos from the phone to the computer with air drop, no cord needed. I have a brain injury from a car accident I can talk to the computer and it types an email out for me saves a lot of time.

What do you like about it? I have an old android phone, and iPad 9 that I want to upgrade to the air 13 inch and apple pencil pro and a decent little windows PC. And I am in the look out for a Samsung ultra or an iPhone. what made you dislike android?

Coming from an Apple fanboy here. My first smartphone was an iPhone 6 here. Then I got an iPad 7. I just started becoming a fan when I got my MacBook Air and AirPods 2. Then I soon got myself an iPad Pro and upgraded to an iPhone 13. Now I am fully in the ecosystem, subscribing to iCloud+ 200 GB and Apple Music. The marriage of software and hardware is a thing only Apple can do, but that is because of how isolated they are from other competitors. The walled garden can be tough to get out but the integration and build quality just makes me feel delighted when I use Apple products. When I start using a Windows PC (not a high-end one), I immediately realize the build quality is way worse, the fans are always on and Windows updates are frustrating. I get the advantages of Android and Windows that seemed to be the standard or more innovative. But the Apple ecosystem is a cozy walled garden that even if I tried to leave, I always return home.

I transitioned to the Apple ecosystem when they released the M series chips for all of the reasons you covered. It looks like we have similar gear with the exception of the Studio display. I just can't justify the expense with my use case so I opted for a 27" 2K ASUS ProArt display. It's a decent runner up and it doesn't affect the integration of my Apple devices (Sidecar, Airdrop, etc.).

People don’t talkin about the apple ecosystem enough. I have iphone 12 pro max airpods pro 2 Apple watch series 7 ipad m1 11 inch 2 homepods for living room sound 2 apple tv 4ks mac book air 2021 air tags and a couple services apple music apple tv+ and airpods pro 2 and max i love the ecosystem been a full time apple guy for 8 years and can’t see a world where im not immersed in the “walled garden” it just makes me life so much easier.

I have the iPhone 15, Apple Watch Series 9, iPad Air 5th Gen, Macbook Air M2, AirPods Pro 2, and other apple accessories. I have loved how seamless everything interconnects to one another and how they feel premium from software and hardware. Give it some more time and you will love them even more!

By the way for Sidecar, I cannot afford a display so I always use it. Back then I had a crappy monitor and I used it with my MacBook, I used Universal Control instead to use the iPad for iPad apps while being able to control it with my Mac. Both features (Sidecar and Universal Control) are great.

Yep, I feel this. I was all about Windows and Android for many years. These days I wouldn't own a windows PC or android phone. If I had to use them I'd rather not even own a computer or phone.

some of these where implemented by samsung and it works well, others don’t. an example is universal copy paste which works flawlessly, and voice calls on the pc which never really worked and it depended on a bluetooth connection??? i also am pretty happy with beign in the apple ecosystem and some people really don’t understand and say “just install this app and it will do it for you” and they don’t understand that i DONT WANT to install and i want it to work nicely. normally, most of the apps will have some quirks. i really like how apple has polished these features to work well, principally sidecar over usb which wasn’t recreated on windows (i think so at least, the last time i tried it just worked via network and it was laggy)

Sure thing! I use the Comply Foam Tips. They stay in my ears much better and create a better seal for noise cancellation. Here's a link to the ones I use but there are a bunch of other brands as well. amzn.to/423E5MX

The Apple mouse grows on you the more you use it to the extent I’ll never use another mouse and I actually don’t use the excellent track pad that is on every MacBook. The charging location doesn’t bother me because the battery lasts a long time and when it’s not in use I rest it on a third party charger that I bought for a reason price.

You missed the most important thing that is cross device copy paste :") It is like you copy a text or an image on lets say iPhone & u can paste it on Mac or iPad. This is my most favorite feature of all time

wasn't a "fanboy", but apple customer service is superb. I started with iPods but androids everything else. I got my first high end Apple product with iPhone 13pro max. Next came the AirPods and Apple Watch. High end HP laptop died prematurely. Decided to get a comparably equipped MacBook Pro. Now looking at AirPods Max, but hesitant.

Ya that seems to be the path for a lot of people. Start with 1 thing, end up with everything. For the AirPods Max, I have to assume they’ll do a refresh of them in the next year or 2 so it might make sense to hold off for a little. Especially since it’s one of the few things that still has a lightning charge port.

I got a new Windows laptop a few months after my wife got a new MacBook Air, and my laptop is showing a lot of wear. The build quality of my Windows laptop is definitely not up to the same quality as the MacBook. Plus her MacBook integrates well with her iPhone, where iTunes on my laptop is terrible. I'm on the verge of giving in and fully jumping into Apple ecosystem.

To be honest, I have never had an android phone at all. I work with those very basic zebra android phones for retail that have terrible reception and amongst other things, I personally don't like. I've worked with windows computers for numerous things like school or work. But what keeps me in the ecosystem is the build quality of all their products, iMessage and all of my music I've owned brought with my own money is tied to my Apple ID. Not to mention, I've owned and used a few iPods over the years as well and still use one to this day.

Regarding iMessage, Apple didn't decide to support RCS out of the goodness of their heart. They are likely trying to keep antitrust legislation at bay both at home and certainly in the EU.

Pixel is the only phone that keeps me away from going back to an iPhone. Google is making it harder for users who love the Pixel experience to switch to another device. I don't see myself ever switching to an iOS phone because the software limitations are just too restrictive. I feel claustrophobic using it. I have to use an iPhone for work and iOS just sucks as an user experience. It's just not intuitive to me. The hardware may be good, although the phones always seem top heavy and unbalanced, but the usability is so archaic. And that is adding RCS Messaging to their iPhones this fallz now we are going to have the ability to send and receive high quality photos and videos while texting someone with an iPhone there is really no reason why I need to switch back to Apple.

I'm actually the opposite of what you have done. Started with the 13 Pro Max and switched to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. I currently use the Airpods Pro Gen2 with the Galaxy. I might switch back next year lol.

I’ve always been curious how well the AirPods would work with Android phones. I assume they basically are just solid earbuds but don’t have a lot of the customization that is available on Apple devices?

@@JohnHelmuth_ Yup they sound pretty much as what youw pups expect, however you can't use voice assistants and no customizability unless you do it on an apple device. It sometimes resets it's settings so that's annoying. No in ear detection either, but pauses when it's put in the case.
