I take my I30N FL DCT on track for the first time at Bedford Autodrome to really push it to its limits and test all of the modifications I've made so far.

Great day and nice driving. The tracked looked fantastic as far as a nice mix of technical and speed. I would love to see the instrument cluster filmed inset on the screen. I appreciate you are learning going through this, having an insert in some way of your speeds, gear, g force - whatever suits - would really be cool. Picking up my i30N manual in 3 more sleeps (New Zealand)! Hoping to be a long term owner of this model so very interested in modding once the warrantee runs out.

I stumbled upon you and I am glad I did. Very informative and nice driving! I am in US and traded my Stinger GT2 for a Kona N. I wish we had the I30N. I do miss the 400HP with a piggyback but couldn't get it to handle half as good as the N's. I see I can get my 400hp with a few mods. Thanks Dan!

Some many great options for hot hatches and cheap sports cars like the G86/BRZ coming out. For me it’s a toss up between the i30N Sedan, Civic Type R or the GR86

I think the tyres were starting to suffer towards the end too. I was thinking manual but might go DCT too. My (well wifes) Focus ST Mk 4 is manual so an auto will be fun. You did a good job for a first go with it on the track. Was the M3 an X-Drive? I'm liking those a lot but so expensive. Yeah keen to see what you've done, I'm not sure what Australia has in the way of Hyundai performance shops but there's always overseas too.

Would be cool if you could get hold of a gopro to film your guages/gear shifts. If you don't mind answering, how much did the i30N cost you at the time of purchase? The DCT is about £36k now, so just wondered if the price has increased in the past year, hoping they might come down a tad in future.

nice vids! I have a FBO Veloster N in Canada and am upgrading to the Elantra N (i30 Sedan N in Europe/Aus I think?) which has the same kind of upgrades as the facelift did but with the next gen platform with integrated drive axle. Also goin from a Manual to an DCT, still loving the choice? I struggled with this decision as well.

That’s awesome, ya know I really struggled at the time of order as I loved how engaging my manual PFL i30n was. But I haven’t looked back since, the box is great and I don’t really miss the manual at all

Bro could you actually make a video talking about the mods like how to slowly dip our feet into it? In what order or some recommendationts? I have a i30N FL MT and your car is so cool! I'm trying to figure out where should I start if I decide to void the warranty. Never moded before but this car kinda deserves it at some point.

Honestly, leave the car stock for a few months to get used to stock power and feel. Then you'll get a real appreciation for mods. In terms of starting, basics with these that won't void warranty are intake, exhaust/res delete, BOV and tyres. EDIT: I should add that any mod CAN void your warranty if it can be proven to be the cause of a failure

Hi Karto, on my forge motorsport video you will see the new oil cooler made for the new FL DCT i30n, it worked incredibly well. Oil temps didn’t rise about 115/120 degrees c and was back down to 90 degrees c within 1 cool down lap

Are the brakes okay for street use?. Should Hyundai offer a bigger performance brake package at time of order, or dealer fit. Especially since it makes a great track car. Hyundai even cover track day use for the car in Australia. Do They in England?. Cheers Dan.

Hi Phillip. Yeah the brakes are fine on the street. I think, for me at least, it’s because my car is currently around 100bhp over stock so they aren’t made or designed with the clamping force needed for that power. There are plenty of brake upgrades available, but the N performance kit that’s available in Asia certainly would be advantageous to be available from order on the car worldwide.

There's quite a lot of flex in your seat, do you find them any stiffer or more flexible than the original i30N?

It’s not something I’ve really given great thought if I’m honest. I prefer the n light seats in every way over the previous seats so I’ve never noticed any more flex over the previous seat.

I think the brake is good enough , coz its track day so its over run, and the automatic gear box could be use lower level to slower the car

This car has over 100bhp more than stock, so with that extra power, the brakes aren’t good enough. They are perfectly fine with stock power.
