“They hate because they have feelings”, “hate is a good feeling because it is a feeling”. These kids are so mature and poetic! All feelings deserve to be felt, we just must learn how to deal with them after they show up.

@2:26 I feel like this was such an under-appreciated comment from that young girl. It’s definitely worth pointing out that there is an incredible amount of insight and wisdom in the words she uses here: “Do you think hate is a good feeling or a bad feeling?” “A good feeling.” “A good feeling? Let’s talk about that. Why do you think that hate is a good feeling?” “Because every feeling is a good feeling, because you feel something.” BOOM!! This may sound simple to most, or it may just sound like another passive comment made by an inexperienced developing young mind. But that right there is actually an extremely enlightened and informed thought process behind the human nature of experience and the emotions we feel! This kind of teaching is key within the fields of clinical psychology, and in one’s own spiritual growth… it can aid considerably towards a more rounded perception of our life experiences. Be it with empathy, compassion, or the apprehension of trauma. They are all related to this notion, and here’s why: All feelings truly are good feelings. All feelings are only feelings relative to the effect they have on us and the world around us. This being said, you cannot have one feeling without another. This is universal. It’s true of you, me, and every other person to have ever had the life experience… You cannot possibly understand what a good feeling is without having a bad feeling in relation to it. If all we felt was good, we wouldn’t know it as good. Likewise if all we felt was bad, we wouldn’t know it as bad… because it’s all we would know, we’d have no reference point. No comparison. Nothing in relation to the only true thing we could ever feel. Therefore, everything would just seem mute, numb, indistinguishable, singular and mono... With this being said, in life we MUST understand that in order to experience the wonderful things: colour, music, laughter, love… we HAVE to have pain and suffering in a relative context in order to truly understand and enjoy them. ‘All feelings are good feelings because it means you feel something.’ We can’t have the good without the bad, and we can’t have the bad without the good. They need each other so that humans can understand and identify the difference in morality, and so we can identify a positive experience from a bad one. All feelings are good feelings because our life experience comes as a full package. It means that in order to have all your amazing and wonderful experiences you must also learn about the pain and the suffering. Simply in order for the good stuff to feel so GOOD!! It can be extremely difficult to come to terms with the fact that all of our positive encounters come as a trade off for all the bad stuff we have to go through simultaneously. It might be hard for people to accept that this harsh truth of life is the only version of life we know. The conclusion comes with the recognition of true emancipation… All feelings are good feelings. Because you’re alive and feeling them. You’re living it. And it’s all we’ve got. All of it. The whole thing. All of the time. Because if you didn’t, you’d feel nothing. You’d have nothing; no memories, no thoughts, no love… This is the life goddammit and it’s as equally hard as it is beautiful! Become one with your joy and your pain. Otherwise your pain will become too indistinguishable from the joy. Accept that suffering is a part of our learning process. It’s how we grow and develop. This is how we understand ourselves and each another.

It’s amazing and very interesting that children can actually name/explain what that feeling is, they recognize it better, when an adult person often cannot even realize that he or she feels hatred for something or someone. I’m a teacher and seeing any sign of potential in a future generation keeps my heart warm.

The little Asian girl is so on the money. I’m surprised by her response because most adults I know haven’t reached that level of maturity. Hate is good because it’s an emotion and it’s good to feel things. And she smashes play doh when she feels it. That’s awesome. Good job parents!

This new age Generation are getting dumber, the world is in trouble as we go further into the future. My input on hate starts with racism, it's got the most impact on why racism is very much still alive. As long as you are a person of skin color like me, there will never be peace in the world. Jealousy starts with people who only wish nothing but bad things on a person, simply because they don't want to see you do better then them. It can be because of the friends you have that they don't have, it can be the cars you drive, the kind of house you live in. Having lots of money is what we call envying someone, because that person will never be in your shoe. These are perfect example on why hatred is everywhere.

Children understand that the best way to deal with really big and messed up stuff is to breath through it. And after that: make yourself and others feel better with a hug. It took me 37 years to realise that and some of them know it when they've barely existed for six years!!
