This is the perfect reason that Police should not investigate other police and police should not receive complaints for other police. You can bet, most complaints go straight to the burn barrel. A third part should be the ones investigating. And they need to be given full access to all police records (cams, documents, reports) IT HAS TO HAPPEN!

What! A high ranking officer lying despite facts checked easily, this is a symptom of narcissistic behaviour. I’ll never be held accountable.

This is the problem we keep talking about a few bad apples,. If that's the case, why individuals in supervisory position making excuses and back up these criminals ,A change must occur, A anonymous citizen review board needs to be created. Who is held accountable for not reporting these individuals? ???

I have NEVER heard of this story and I'm just shocked! I mean I'm a grown man and I'm sitting here trying to figure out the "WHY". Why would these cops do something like this and knowing that that kid was helpless??? Clearly these are two people that could care less. There's no other explanation.

This is why a state wide citizens oversight committee is needed to investigate complaints & allegations against cops & excessive use of force complaints. Law enforcement shouldn't be allowed to investigate themselves because if the department is corrupt they will always find "NO WRONG DOING FROM THE OFFICER"

Would you let a drug dealer investigate themselves? How about a bugler? There should be a division of the FBI that investigates police. And there should be a national data base, and updated daily. If an officer gets fired in Indiana, he can't just run to Nevada and get hired without them know he was fired and what for. And qualified Immunity needs to go now, they should all have to carry malpractice insurance just like medical professionals do. Too many issues and insurance companies won't cover them. If they know that their get out of jail free card is gone, they might act less like thugs.

plumber, electricians, have licensing boards, and somehow this doesn't give them immunity to the constitution when the states mistakes, you pay, anyone else would pay and lose their license

FBI is corrupt and lawless, and they need investigated themselves. DOJ and many other federal bureaus are all corrupt and criminal behavior has become widespread. Law enforcement that can't follow the very laws they attempt to enforce. Qualified immunity magically invented by judicial caveat step by step and never by required legislative process. Law enforcement employees who consider themselves above the US Constitution and legislation passed by Congress. Untouchable public employees who will learn the hard way that qualified immunity does not make you bullet proof. Power corrupts, and this is the government that the founding fathers warned us about. Right here and right now, and not some theoretical worst case scenario situation.

Law enforcement is a closed society that needs to be opened up by public scrutiny. These people have the ability to kill citizens and deprive them of their liberty.

Defund the police. This is proof positive, along with countless death by cops responding to mental health crises, that cops shouldn’t be responding to these call, period. You don’t need them. Send trained professionals.

@@WitnessingTyranny when I said trained professionals I didn’t mean cops…reading comprehension bruh. Tf would I say don’t send cops, then immediately proceed to say send cops? Clearly I was referring to social workers, mental health professionals, etc.

In my opinion that law enforcement desertification should apply to all the state in the Union as well as internationally those foods could move to Canada and get a job in law enforcement it's obvious that we have a lot of people in law enforcement with their own agenda this is becoming a major problem in USA and our elected leaders are basically doing nothing to address these issues. sincerely, yours pumpkinhead🎃

Cops are crooked nationwide and have been running a gambit for the last 60+ years, this is basically how it works if you want to know; -Exceedingly common conduct -- Police mostly operate under impunity all of the time, they can do/say what they want, will be supported/backed by their current employer and fellow police union members unless the situation is extreme or unwinnable politically or in court. ---Reports are key for court, they are trained by fellow officers how to construct the framing and words their reports, they consistently contain "stock claims" i.e. vague and generic claims that are repeatable. These are copy/paste claims/statements they apply over and over again because they know this language holds weight in court regardless of weather it's true ore not; "The subject became" *fill in the blank with any adjective and/or with negative connotations* irate, confrontational, offensive, abusive, aggravated, so on and so on. Typically there's never any details provided and when questioned on the bench it's very common for them to make them up on the spot. When it's YOUR word against theirs you're going to lose 99.99% of the time. Fired; -Should a cop ever be fired it's typically not a big deal at all, they are dealt about like Pokemon trading cards. (Paraphrasing here) "Hey Craig don't worry it's no problem, we got you covered, we already have you a position two towns over where people don't know you, detail for three months at twice the pay and we won't report this in the national database. Enjoy your months long paid time off during the investigation and good luck with your new position two towns over." -The local Sheriff/Police Chief makes a statement saying they're surprised by the officers conduct, don't condone said conduct, pretend to be sad and say this will never happen again. The leads will give them recommendations and another local town/city will pick them up, in the mean time they do "detail work" standing by construction zones/traffic detail/security at fairs/celebrations or other public events while getting paid time off while the "investigation" is conducted and still collect $150-200k a year. -They pass these cops around like it's meth at a meth party. This happens like clockwork and has for decades. This is only a glimpse about the truth of how police operate nationwide, it's rinse, wash, repeat cycle that has worked for a hundred years +. May god help you if you're black or brown because the justice system is systemically designed against you.
