Yeah I saw the design for the first time with the gold i4 concept and reaction was _yes!, finally BMW found their new grille._ The older style grilles are not ugly but a little bit boring and starting to look dated (I drive an F30 so talking about my own car), and then the newer grilles on the G20 3 series etc were just getting wider and starting to overlap into the hood/headlights. Especially the 1 series looks horrible. 4 series is great looking, very distinctive, very BMW, can't wait to see more. Even makes the 8 series coupe look a bit awkward and dated in comparison.

@@cjsen1887 internally the engine is the same the only thing that changed is from 2-4300 rpm the sound of the exhaust sounds ver quiet in comparison to last gen

Love the grill! I am myself a Beemer fan, on my 4th BMW now. Love the looks and the specs. It is now standing out amongst the crowd. Definitely feel front end of the recent past BMWs had become too sedate. This one ups the game, well done BMW.

To be honest, I love the grill. It is a throwback to the prestigious Beemers built in the 1930's. To those that hate it.....it gives them the thought WTF was that, and gives that instant recognition. I was a car nut back when the Plymouth and Dodge Superbirds and Daytonas were introduced....and people thought they were the ugliest car ever built....today....they are highly coveted....wished I bought a few of the hemis when the dealers were begging people to buy them!

Got my red m440i in September and I love it. I get lots of compliments and older bmw model owners always checking out my car. Front end grew on me big time. Now older models look real dated. Great job bmw

This is what truly worries me tho, bmw have a design system where all the designers put their designs forward and then they are voted on internally. So either they’ve all gone mental in Bavaria or the whole company is being deliberately sabotaged by all the employees. I mean this front end, a 4cyl fwd 1 series and 2 series gc. What is happening to them?!

It happened, the 1 series is now a FWD transversely mounted i4 with a 65/35 weight distro for the normal spec cars and a 60/40 for the m135i which is awd but fwd biased (aka and ugly af golf r) its slower than the previous models. Its a pile of junk.

The problem with new design language, is that not everybody understands it right away. On top of that, there are many folks out there who are afraid for the unfamiliar. But having seen this car a few times at the dealer, I must say it has grown on me.

When I first saw pictures of the G22 4 Series, I was very unsure, even worried that they had messed up the design of this car. However after seeing it in the metal I think it looks stunning grills and all. I think its a modern, progressive, forward thinking design.

..I got past the looks my friend so much so in fact, I have one sitting in the Baltimore port of entry as I type..dravet grey, black 19 “ rims, red calipers...oyster leather. Go with black shadow line trim and a dark paint color and the front end looks fantastic...woohoo

Ive found the front grill looks a lot better in black or that grey color they have... i wasn't a fan but it grows on you ...feeling the new generation its bolder look ... i think in the next year or so all their model will come with the front grill ... But way better in all black

I just got my BMW M440ix in green which I had to special order. I love the grill and the car is so much fun to drive and happy they put ventilated seats in the car. My car priced out at 70K

Love this car!!!! BMW might be perplexing most but has a serious endgame planned. This car is awesome in performance and comfort. I would say that makes it the “Ultimate Driving Machine”. If you look at the I4, future M4 and M3 you will see this look is the future of performance BMW

The car sounds pretty good and love their interior. But that front end has to go. The only cars that can pull off the style of the grilles are the E28 and the 2002.

Just picked up my sapphire black metallic M440i with shadow line trim and 19” gloss black wheels. The first time I took it to get gas I was asked by one guy what kind of car it was and praised for how it looks and just after that another guy (with a nice new sports car) asked me about the mechanical specs then asked me to race his V8 400 hp car. 😊 (I am not a race car driver and have had no accidents for >10 years and do not want to put my baby in jeopardy so I wimped out and told him thanks but no thanks). Oh well it would have been fun, even losing, This is one instance where legal and insurance regulations suck!

I do love the grill and how the grill’s slats open to cool down the engine. I just traded in my old 440i for the new M440i xdrive. I love her. She is black with a burgundy leather interior. This car handles better than the 2018 440i that I traded in for the new car. She’s also faster. What I don’t like is that the parking censors are a little too high to let me know if I am too close to a parking concrete slab. The car lets me know about higher obstacles. I got a highly upgraded car. I really like l the look and her performance... Xdrive makes all the difference. She does look like a min 8 series. My old car looked like a mini 6 series. I don’t know where BMW is going with the 4 series. It seems as though the 4 series is open to mimic different series...

I have beat F80 M3s in my M34OI. Sport plus rips in the G20. I fully believe it's a better vehicle than the F80, and 82. I have the 4dr, and my opinion is it's the best 3er yet. The B58 is a monster.

I’m deciding between whether I should lease an M340i or buy a used f82 M4 for around 35k... What should I do ?? Both cars are gonna be heavily modified

i would get the f82 i just got one and love it but if your looking to only spend 35 your gonna have less features and the shit is gonna come with 65 plus miles oh and of course a 2015 model so id rather you spend 40 and get one with better miles also remember taxes dealer fees and if you not paying cash probably an extra 4 grand on top of everything after 5 years of interest so really your looking at the ball park of damn near 50 bands even with the 4 0r 5 grand deposit so idk where the hell you got thirty five from but good luck
