I hope you find this video helpful. I liked all of these bags, but everyone's needs are different, so the bag you may like might not be the one(s) that I did. I'm interested in which ones you liked, so leave me comments here.

I ordered the Foldie for the RFID feature and size for my crossbody bag. Can’t wait for it to arrive ❤

I have to say, that I was so surprised by how much I liked the Foldie. It holds so much without looking too bulky. My only small criticism, is that I wished they had a better logo on the bag. You'll love yours, I'm sure!

I’ve been using a 1 L lululemon belt bag as my edc but decided to upgrade to one with slash resistant straps for our upcoming trip to Türkiye. I chose a Travelon sling that can also be worn as a crossbody purse. It’s a lovely heather grey with a light grey interior. It will meet my needs for this trip but the Bellroy you reviewed in this video really caught my eye!

Hi @amiek9226 I just went to check the Travelon sling (I have had their toiletry for years and I love it still) but they have several and I was wondering what led you to look for an upgrade. The bag actually looks great. The Bellroy bag was by far the best thought-out bag, and I would probably say the Tomtoc bag. I just wanted to pick your mind since I had a few suggestions I had not found in my research.
@amiek92262 ай бұрын
@@PerriesPassport I upgraded to the Travelon sling from the Lululemon everywhere belt bag because I wanted slash resistant straps. I watched a video about drive by pickpockets on the Travel Tips by Laurie channel and decided that although I love the look of the lululemon belt bag, the straps would be too easy to slash. I’ll still use the lululemon bag at home, we live in a pretty quiet small town. But Istanbul is a city of over 16 million people, so I want to take whatever precautions I could beforehand. The Travelon sling also features lockable zippers so that adds another layer of protection. The one I got is called the Travelon Anti-Theft Metro Convertible Crossbody. It can be worn as a belt bag or as a crossbody purse.

Nomad Lane recently came out with two different size slings. They had an initial special where you could get the smaller one free with purchase. I now use both EDC. I use the small one when going for a walk to hold my phone, keys and tissues. I use the larger one when out for the day. Love them and will sometimes wear them slung onto my back since it seems lighter. Before my next trip tho I will be comparing it to the Foldie sling that I have that includes RFID pocket.

Hi @lindapark8467 ! I'll have to check out the Nomad Lane ones. I just got the Foldie sling today, oddly enough. I have an RFID wallet so I don't care about that so much as how well it holds my stuff, but I know the Foldie is supposed to be good. Thanks for the Nomad Lane tip. I didn't know they made slings.

TSA is not the same as boarding the plane at the gate. TSA doesn’t count your items. However boarding means only two items. One might be able to put your sling on and then your jacket zipped up. The funny thing is,once you get to your seat that third little item can magically appear,and nothing is said about it. ❤

I need to have an RFID pocket somewhere in any sling or bag I carry.

Hi @deborahpowell3454. That is a good point and it is something I should have addressed, but because I use an RFID wallet (it's part of my phone case) I totally forgot to talk about it. So, with that being said, only the Tomtoc has RFID protection. Wow... that is something more for me to consider.

If I am wearing what people are wearing as slings now, I embrace it as a fanny pack/belt bag and wear it around my waist. I've found as I've gotten older that any kind of cross body tends to hurt my shoulder unless it is very very small and basically just holds a phone and maybe a car fob. I have a lulumon dupe I got on Amazon that I wear to WDW often. I also have a very old belt bag called a TanSac 2 that isn't even sold any more that I wear if I need something to hold a tad more than the dupe. In my every day life I rarely even use a bag, just stick my phone in my pocket and my key fob in the other one. I have one of those little stick on pockets on my phone that holds my DL and a CC. If I need anything bigger than that I grab whatever size I need. When I travel if I'm going somewhere I don't think the belt bag worn around my waist would look right, I will sling it around my shoulders crossbody style if it isn't going to be for longer then a hour. We don't fly much any more because we have a dog that can't be boarded so we travel domestically in our RV.
@PerriesPassport2 ай бұрын
Hi @lovestodive1879 ! I always say that you should do you, and if it works or you as a fanny pack (and why I included that alternative name in the video). Comfort and safety should always be the most considerations when traveling and I love your idea of just slinging it over your shoulders when you want it to look better. I am currently a bit pet-bound myself, as I have a new kitten, but we do have trips on the horizon in the next few months. I have to go out to Cali to see my daughter, so her sister will be watching the little guy.

I’ve been using an EDC (fanny pack) for about 6 years - it forces me to limit “things” as well as keeping my essentials close by.
@PerriesPassportАй бұрын
HI @SandyBanks-vk5dl ! I have found the same thing and that is why I love it. Even at home I only use a small handbag.

We have always been requested by TSA to remove all jackets and place in a bin. Therefore I don’t understand your hack about turning sling to back and putting on your jacket over it will work. Nonetheless, I always enjoy your channel.
@PerriesPassport2 ай бұрын
Hi @LeslieSRQ The trick is used either if you have to go to the airline desk before TSA or after TSA when you are boarding. This is when airline agents will tell you that you either have to ditch the bag or worse, pay more.

The bellroy bag you showed, you used it backwards. The logo goes out on the front and the padded side goes against your body. Also it would have been nice to mention the litres of the bags. I have tried all of the ones you mentioned except your first bag. I think you should try the Athleta one. It is not as stiff and holds alot, it is the biggest bag they make . I also really like The North Face Berkeley Field Bag. It is 5 litres. I used this all over Japan and could fit all that you had plus the water bottle, 2 phones and 2 wallets.
@PerriesPassport2 ай бұрын
Hi @karleenmartin-vegue6314 ! I didn't realize I had used the wrong take of the Bellroy bag when making the video. D'oh. Sorry about that. The reason I didn't mention the litter is because I found that the advertised litter doesn't always translate into how much a bag will hold.. That is why I packed each bag with the same items. So for instance, the Tomtoc sling, Bellroy sling and the Lululemon are all supposed to be 2.5 liters, but only the Tomtoc held everything. I'm going to check out your recommendations, but those are larger than most I showed here (with the exception of the Vera Bradley sling). I am still in the process of trying to pick one (besides the Free People bag, which I liked just because, LOL), so thanks for that tip!
@karleenmartin-vegue63142 ай бұрын
@@PerriesPassport I like how you actually tried all the top ones. I found that the Tomtoc and Bellroy just had no give in them. I use The North Face as my everyday bag and it is a little big but it does not stick out and feel bulky when I wear it. Like you I am have been trying to find the right edc. I also have the Vera (2 sizes) and the Kavu (2 sizes) and keep going back to the NF bag as it is flexible if you need to stuff it in a backpack. I am moving back to the states soon and you have so many more choices available than in Australia and cheaper🙂
