Have you tried Holo Taco? Literally, one coat black. My nails don't like nail polish, but as long as I use a base coat, they last for days and its wonderful. Also, with dip powders, you're supposed to wear a face mask. Inhaling that crap is SO BAD for your lungs. Plus, for the fussier polishes (like the chromes or magnetics) Cristine is SUPER UP FRONT about how do be successful with them. She also does a peel off base coat if you don't want to use a ton of acetone to remove your polish. Otherwise, if you wanna do the gel polish thing, stick with soak off gels, not grind offs. SO BAD for your nails.

@@elainerose8799 I don’t have every one, but close. It’s one of only 2 brands that don’t peel off on me. Of course, base coat and top coat required. For those of you looking to try something like Lume but don't want to spend the extra money. This is super embarrassing, but try vagisil wash on your armpits. After having COVID a year and a half ago my arm pits smell soo bad! It didn't matter what body wash or deodorant I used. Nothing seemed to work. I even tried three different kinds of men's deodorant, and that didn't work either! A few weeks ago on a whim I used Vagisil wash on my arm pits and under boob area, with the logic that if it's made for vag stink then it definitely couldn't hurt. IT WORKED!!!!!! Also it costs less than $5! I hope this helps someone!

RE: Dip nails. I've found it's best to take the top layer (AND ONLY THE TOP) off with a dremel, and then use 100% acetone from a beauty supply shop like Sally's. I prefer soaking in a bowl over the cotton and clips. The reason for filing is to file off the top coat so that the acetone can work at breaking down the nail polish stuff.

Nail boo is okay, but smaller companies are the best. I started doing my own nails back when salons shut down and it’s now an obsession 😂. Dip powders are the best. I use a peel base with them too so I can just pop off the hardened shell when I want to (because dip powder liquids are essentially super glue, FYI). It takes a lot of practice and a lot of filing. If you pour the powder over your nails instead of dipping into the jar, it helps prevent bumps and unevenness. 2-4 coats for short nails like yours is best to prevent chipping. Also, it does take a LONG time as a beginner. Happy dipping, if you stick with it!

Nail tech here!! You’re supposed to file off the top layer of the top coat and then soak your nails in acetone until it starts to break down, then you’d slow scrape off the top layer and soak them again and repeat that step until you have your natural nail. It is a process and it does take about an hour to get it off both of your nails but it’s most definitely worth it because your nails wouldn’t have ended up as damaged or damaged at all like yours came out in the video. I’ve used nailboo for a couple of months now and they’ve became one of my absolute favorite brands next to ASP and gelish. It’s all about practice (:

Target now sells Lume (at least our Target does). As for your fear of candles, it is justified. Instead, what you can do, if you want the candle look, is get a votive or a wickless candle and place it on a wax warmer. Safer then a candle burning, keeps your pets safe (so long as they don't dive into the wax), and there are a lot of styles that you can choose from that will allow you to enjoy the candle in style!

Dip powder is the absolute best kind of manicure. At a nail salon, they would do at least 3 dips per nail -- it does take a while, and they can feel thick. But if they are done properly, they will last without chipping for 2-3 weeks at a time. It is a very involved process though. The removal at a salon also would never be just to buff it off manually. Because my nails don't chip with dip powder on, I don't break my nails between manicures, and my nails are soooooo much happier/healthier. Go to a salon and try getting it done professionally! It is honestly life-changing.

Let it soak for about 5 minutes and rub off with a paper towel and soak more if needed. Takes a long time to remove, but only doing it every 2 weeks is tradeoff. (: I also use to work at sally beauty and we sold soooo many of those dip powder kits, they were most definitely best seller for dip powder kits because of the amazing quality of all of their products! (: 💕 and if you don’t want to mess with the dip powder nail boo also has some amazing gel polishes as well that you wouldn’t have to do so many coats for, it’s one coat of the color and the gel top coat and you’re done! They’re very pigmented and also last for a while (:

As someone who does their own nails and has for years and is in cosmetology school. The dip takes practice but it lasts for a long time without chipping. When you take it off file as much off as you can. If you do have an electric file that will work the easiest. Even if you just buff off the topcoats though soak them in acetone. It takes a while but soak them then scrape it off with either a metal or wood cuticle pusher. If it doesn’t come off the first time. Soak again. Repeat until they are off completely. Just don’t use a metal cuticle pusher and jab it down towards your nails. That will damage them. If you keep soaking with acetone thought it will all come off without damaging your nails! Good luck!!

Bliss is too expensive. I've gotten better for less on Amazon. It's important to understand the difference between silks & Momme (like thread count in other fabrics). The higher the momme, the sturdier the silk. So many silk pillowcases are lower momme.
@merlinsmama1600 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I always buy my silk pillow cases from Amazon, they're good quality and last for ages. None of them have done that weird bubbly thing that Rachel's did.

I've used Lume for about a year. I started with their original cream type deodorant and couldn't stand the smell of any of the scents I'd tried when you first put it on. After a while the scent dissipated, but the smell was a deal breaker and I stopped using it. Then they came out with the solid stick so after reading tons of reviews I decided to give it a try and I found it didn't have that same weird smell and liked it. It worked better for me, odor-wise, than Native, which I had used for years until I developed a coconut oil allergy. But I still had problems with body odor using the Lume. On advice from a dermatologist, I switched to a new method and a less expensive deodorant and have been finding success with my new regimen. If you decide to try Lume, I would recommend trying the solid over the cream if you are sensitive to weird smells.

I have also been known to wear out, err destroy, an eye mask as well. Great tip on the elastic. Never thought of that. I find that the lighter colored ones look gross a lot quicker because they will soak up all the skin care I've slathered on before bed. I do let it soak in fully but I have really oily skin so throughout the night that's when the mask starts to absorb everything. I've wanted to try a pure silk one so bad but I'm afraid of how quickly I'll destroy it. Maybe I ask for one for Christmas next year.

I ordered Lume for my daughter and it came within a week and it seems to work for her, she has such bad b.o. and sweats a lot, once she started using it I couldn't smell her anymore. We did actually find it at Target last week though so we won't be needing to order through the website.

girl why did you jump straight to some overly priced deodorant instead of finding out the cause of your daughter’s BO??? either she’s got some medical issue or she has poor hygiene and those would both be your fault

Thank you for sharing! My daughter is about to turn 12 and has hit puberty. She has been dealing with bad bo even though she showers every single day. I have tried buying her the clinical strength deodorants and they only somewhat work. I was worried to try Lume because she does have eczema and sensitive skin but after reading your comment as well as a few others I think I am going to go to Target and get her the deodorant and body wash to try. Thanks again for sharing.

I LOVE Kiziks. My husband has super wide feet and it’s hard to find shoes that fit him at all, let alone ones that actually look good. I got some for my 5 year old and oh my god, it’s an absolute game changer for kids. Not having to sit on him and shove shoes on his (unfortunately wide like his dad’s) feet when we leave the house is incredible. I can’t recommend them enough for people with wide feet and children! I bought some for myself after having such success with them and they’re my absolute favorite sneakers. They’d be great for elderly or people with certain mobility issues, too!

I used to get SNS done to my nails regularly. While I never DIY’d it, over a couple years I saw the techs do the following: - heat the acetone. I would gently rub my nails while soaking in the acetone and the Sns would be completely gone with no filing needed - file file file the nail bed down after the SNS has been activated, especially around the nail bed to have a more subtle graduation to the thicker SNS on the middle of the nail. Chunky SNS is a bit naff and the main reason I never did it at home.

I used to remove this type of polish with paper towel in a plastic bag soaked with acetone, and a bowl of hot water. Put your hand in the bag, and place it on the water and occasionally rub your fingers on the papers towel. The powder polish used to melt off. Might I recommend builder gel for anyone with bad nails. It’s been really good for my very weak nails, can be painted over or left natural. X
@lisap3657 Жыл бұрын
For the nail stuff you can file just the clear coat off if you want and then put a cotton piece with acetone (must have acetone) nail polish remover on it on top of the nail and then you put one of those little clip thingys over to hold the cotton piece on your nail. Let it sit for 10 min and then take the clip off and push down on the cotton piece wiping the stuff off your nail. I do this every 2 weeks and it’s wonderful because the color doesn’t chip or peel off. Also a tip, don’t dust the nails right after doing one nail. Do all the fingers then dust.

And for removing, file off the top coat. And if you put a cotton ball soaked in acetone on your nail and wrap your finger in foil. Then stick your foil wrapped fingers in a bowl of rice that has been heated until warm. The heat from the rice will help remove the dip off.

I just purchased satin pillow cases from Kitsch. I think they were having a buy one get one 50%... also purchased through Shop so I had Shop Cash to put towards the other. The pillow cases are $19 (US) each for a standard/queen. So far I love them. I just wash them with my regular clothes since I wash on tap cold and then placed in the dryer on low heat with other clothes that I dry with low heat. No problems so far. They have sleep masks too. They have all kinds of hair and sleep products. I've only tried the satin pillow cases though. I had been wanting to try satin pillowcases for a while but all the ones I saw in stores were either too expensive or not the color/pattern I wanted. Kitsch doesn't have too many options, but I got the blush which suits my bedroom theme well.

Just an important note with the toothpaste bites - you need to check that they contain around 1450 ppm (1350-1500) of fluoride because if they don’t then they’re not really acting as a toothpaste. Then again maybe they’re not meant to provide the protection and actual job of toothpaste and are just for whitening/cosmetic/natural purposes. Anyway, I wouldn’t really use them daily, maybe just for travelling etc.
