the beehive candle is based off something called a courting candle, back in the day the candle would be lit in a sitting room by the lady's father and left to burn while the couple conversated when the candle would burn out it was a quiet yet firm reminder the suitor should end the date. its also interesting to note the father could change the amount of time the candle would burn based on how comfortable he felt about the suitor. the candles were also used in pretty much all economic backgrounds

I bought the volumizing clips and HATED them until...I pulled the velcro off. It comes off easily and underneath, there are tiny little 'bumps' that provide some grip so they don't just fall out. I have curly hair and can't afford anything that causes frizziness and these work GREAT once you pull the velcro off. Try it!

Hey besties, about the volumizing hair clips!!! The ColourWow Raise The Root spray that the girl used in the original video is WAAAY different than the Living Proof Texture and Volume spray that Rach used. Both are good however, the Raise The Root is more like a strong hold liquid hairspray that’s DOES give crazy volume, and the Living Proof one is more like a dry shampoo/texture spray. I personally use both products day to day and in my experience, I use Raise The Root when drying and styling, and I use the Living Proof one for touch up volume on dry hair on day 2-7 day hair.

I just watched Mia Maples and she shed light on how Halara is most likely fast fashion. I was wondering as well due to all the ads and they seem problematic to me like Temu etc.
@oxar1122 Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure they've also stolen designs from independent brands like popflex, which is made by another youtuber.
@nickyrowley7681 Жыл бұрын
@@oxar1122 look at the comments on the Mia Maples video, it suggests that Halara existed before popflex, and that the main critic is that they have now copied the advertising style (therefore duping people who assume it might be popflex). As in some people were buying products for years before popflex. As to fast fashion, I think it's mainly because they don’t display their production process/standards. This is from that comments section. I don’t buy either cos I have things that might technically be fast fashion (from supermarkets) but have lasted for years (like 20+).
@oxar1122 Жыл бұрын
@nickyrowley7681 oh interesting! Yeah, I try to minimize fast fashion shopping because of the potential ecological and human labor impacts, but I also recognize that a lot of people simply can't afford otherwise. And as a plus size person, there are almost no slow fashion brands (that i know of) in my size that carry truly of-the-moment trendy styles. I think if they were more transparent, it would be easier to feel like supporting them.

My mother had super fine hair. She would brush her hair upside down and use a max hold spray, then curl clip. When the clips came out, she would tease the curls...Amazing volume for super fine hair. ❤
@sdsx Жыл бұрын
On the volumizing clips, work from bottom up so that each new curl sits on top of the one you just clipped. Then they don't get all tangled together. The velcro damage will be real, though .. how fast you hair is trashed just depends how healthy your hair is to start. Same volummizing results are possible with any roller clip or alligator-type clip - just clip reallllly close to roots. No velcor damage.

Hey Rachel, I have a hair product for you to try, it's called La Boisthetique long hair it's a whole product line and I use the protective softening shampoo, they do have one for volume but I can only speak for the one I use. It's expensive but well worth it, it's now the only product I need and use for my hair. You have to use it for at least a month to get your scalp to acclimate to it, cause my head was so oily and used to all the silicones and stuff that it had kind of withdrawal symptoms of feeling dry but not being dry etc... Now I don't need any other products, it looks healthier than ever, less itchy scalp, a bit of volume, sooo flowy, rarely any bad tangles, dries way faster since they don't tangle to a big mess and smells sooo good and the best part is that gets oily slowly after day 4 not 2 so yay ! 😍 you do need to wash twice to get all the oil out but that's the intention, first wash almost no bubble or lather cause it binds all the oils and second wash gets out the rest and lathers perfectly normal. AND NO USE OF OTHER PRODUCTS while you get your hair and scalp acclimated to it, that way all the silicones and bad stuff can get washed out. Also a tip/recommendation: only use the shampoo in the upper part of your hair, the other parts will get washed when you wash out the shampoo, it helps very well with avoiding split and dry ends Hope that helps and sorry for the long message 😅

I have super fine hair and it doesn't have much body at all. It does have a very slight wave to it. It only really looks good after I just wash it. If I leave it alone the next day it'll look like crap. So I like to braid it once it's dry and then I sleep on the braids and I take them out the next day. It gives me a lot of texture and volume. I don't like to comb out the waves completely because I put some of the hair up into a partial pony and leave the rest down. At the end of the day after work I take out the partial pony and I comb it all out and it's got a lot of nice soft waves. But I need to braid it again so it'll look nice for work the next day. I only wash my hair once a week.
