Get your yourself a kolinsky brush Laura, and buy some soap too, they are a bit expensive and they are tricky to get started with, but my god, they are amazing! Not having the dip your brush in the paint every second stroke make painting so much more fun. Also, great video! happy to have you in the hobby.

seeing beginners paint always helps me feel better about the small goals i set for myself when painting, these look amazing, well done. though i have to ask was anyone else mentally screaming when she was painting on the sprue?
@Alexisking222Ай бұрын
Great progress so far! With your newly acquired skills, "Slapchop" could be a cool technique to try with your speed paints. It'll help bump up the contrast and definition on the miniatures, while still being fast and beginner friendly. Keep it up 👍

I started last year with miniature painting but I wanted it to do it the "classical" way. Let's call it like that. And over the summer I head no headspace to work again on my Blood Angels Combat Patrol. Also I thought all these tiny Space Marines they are hard to paint for a beginner. At least if you make the same beginner fualt as I did and put them all togehter before painting them. Sometimes it is way easier to assemble them after the paint process. And last weekend then I started to do the Impulsor tank that was part of the box. So something bigger that in my mind is easier to handle. I just did the crew compartment in the back and it took me about 6h. But my guess and my fear with this tank was always that this part is the hardest and from there on it gets easier. So it is impressive to see your works here on YT and also over on TT that even beginners can get great results and progress as they go. Nobody is perfect at the start. You are already doing bases and stuff. Mine are still plain black. But this is also work in progress.
@laura_kiddoАй бұрын
@@madmaxzwo so kind of you to say, thank you! Appreciate it!😊🙏🏻 And exactly this is what I wanted to experiment with - nobodys perfect at the beginning, but it is about having fun and making progress, this is a hobby after all right? I don‘t like mean people, that are shoving their narrow minded view on beginners. You have to do this and that blabla, just be happy and enjoy painting your Blood Angels, I bet they will look absolutely stunning!!😍🙏🏻 have a great day, friend

Great video. I have been trying out speedpaints myself and this definitely gives me some inspiration and hope. I do have 2 questions: 1. Do you thin the speedpaints at all? 2. Can you share the montage music artist(s)? Would love to listen to them while I do painting of my own.
@laura_kiddoАй бұрын
@@blasfemyr it‘s so cool to read, that this video gave you hope! I‘ve been only doing this for some month and I was so overwhelmed at the beginning and my models looked like shite😂 That‘s totally normal - I did thin the paints, e.g. for creating the purple undercoat in the beginning, it behaves like a wash. Usually you don‘t have to thin them. It promises to do highlights, shading and everything in one coat and it really delivers that promise. Just try it out and if you have more questions you can always join my Discord, there are a lot of amazing painters there, you can answer your questions way better than I can😊🙏🏻

Dont dive to deep into the speed paint side of painting yeah they can be a big help but they also get you stuck in a rut of never improving past a certain level if you only really use them

Hi, i m not professional but i think you can gain a lot of time using a mutch big brush for your « base coat » … and using your Little for the detail and the shadow between the scale like you do … In general have 2 or 3 size of brush always ready to use and switch between is (for me) a beter way to dont be frustate of passing a long Time on the same zone … Keep enjoying this faboulos Hobby and welcome to this amazing community of mini s painters your start is great ! 🫡 (Sorry for m’y bad english .. too lazy to use a translator 🙄)
