If anyone was wondering the difference between Corelux, Corelux XD and Corelux Ultra are the specs. As you move up the line, the overall thickness and wear layer of the floors increase.

Thank you so much for reviewing different brands of vinyl planks! I've been researching for almost a year. I have all the brands nearby except Menards. I've looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Floor & Decor. Just discovered LL flooring is nearby + feel pretty confident with their product now! The next plan is to binge watch your installation videos! 🤗

We installed Coreluxe Ultra as well and it definitely is tougher to install. Very thick, solid, and durable flooring but I believe you need a very flat, level floor to keep this floor in good condition since the plank is very wide, long, and not flexible. We did not have a level floor and used underlayment (as recommended by LL Flooring) and also removed planks and put them back in as Joe says NOT to do in this video. Now we hear from Joe in another video that you do NOT use pad and underlayment together. So now we have issues of joints failing but it is what it is. We did install it as a drop-in lock as he does in the video. I personally think it’s not so DIY friendly, but it is a very nice and strong floor. Hope this info helps someone out. 👍🏻

Joe, watched many of your vids about plank installation and little tip and tricks to getting flooring look good. I have installed tile before and thanks to you this went just as well. I bought 2000 sq ft of the Coreluxe ultra Tobacco road acacia ( 8mm 28mil wear layer RVP)for our floor. 3 different widths ( 5, ,6 ,7") multiple lengths ( 25" and 48" ) and 10 patterns spread across all planks. Really makes for a unique floor. Not the easiest to install or cut, but the multiple lengths and widths allowed me to mix the pattern in multiple areas to lower wasted product.

I just finished an install with the Duravana planking, and it was a hard install, but the result are amazing. when I purchased, they did tell me that the padding is not required. when asked about using a jig saw, not to. I went through a 160 blade, and it was throwing sparks when cutting, and about half way through, the bladed was junk. I did go and buy a pack of jig saw blades, that is for plywood, very fine tooth,, and it cut through like butter, just taped the cuts, with very minimal chipping, and like you said in the video, using the bridge method is the best way to install. My nest floor, I would use this again. A few things I would do different would be to stand all the planking up, and organize them together, and vary the patterns so I don't have any like pieces to close together. the down side? takes a lot long to install with their method of install, the locking system you have to be careful not to slip up on the edge, or it will chip pretty easy. great product though. We'll see how it holds up over time. wish I would have seen this video before my purchase, but don't regret. good video, and thanks!

I installed some LL Flooring CoreLux Seminato Sterling 18x36 tiles in a kitchen and two bathrooms. Overall I was happy with the ease of installation and the surface durability seems very hard. At the time it was $2.49/sqft (pro discount). Great value, especially compared to Lowes comparable offerings at $4/sqft. I agree the tongues need to be stronger. They are reasonably strong, but when they snap they snap too easily. There's no flex. Anywhere there was the slightest dip in the concrete subfloor I could hear the locking system making cracking noises on the short ends of the tile.

You might have a heck of a time finding this brand but it's 4 seasons. I got it for $2.49 a square foot and it has a 20mil wear layer, 6mm. 5ft L x 9" W. I bought it from this place in Las Vegas(where I live) from a store called One Stop Trim Shop. $1.99 a linear foot for my 6" Victorian baseboard too. This was only a week ago. Thanks for this test, I had considered this brand myself.

I'm installing Corelux XD Honey Mead Oak for my master bedroom and bathroom in my new house that already had hardwood in the hallway. I picked Honey Mead Oak because its color matches the hardwood color and I got 10% discount over Black Friday. Also it's 7mm thick and 20mil wear layer. I'm happy with my choice because it looks like real hardwood floor. Thank you for your evaluation!

Absolutely love this video and a big fan of your other brand tests. I was just at LL Flooring yesterday. Loved the look and feel of Duravana. It feels like ceramic tile. But you are so right about the way to install it as the company directs. This has a super tight joint. The micro bevel is super tight and beautifully unnoticeable. The bevel feels like sanded grout, at least on the “urban mist oak” planks I have sampled. While I like this, I’m a little skeptical regarding the locking system as I think deflection may pull apart on what looks like compressed stone type layers.

If you still have a full plank of the Duravana handy, I'd be curious if you could replicate the same issue I had. My room would have had a 2in strip for the last row so I rip cut the first row of planks to be about 3.5in so roughly half the plank. After the cut on a tablesaw with a 10in laminate blade, I went to start the row and noticed the remaining strip of plank had bowed longways and the locking mechanism wouldn't mate evenly. I also tried it with a jigsaw and had the same issue. All told I had to return everything because I didn't have time to experiment but they gave me a full refund even with the open boxes. I bought more of the CoreLuxe for that last room and had no issues.

Question for you. I just installed the Corelux XD floor, I didn’t realize until I was finished that it was the tongue and groove style. I was installing it like the drop and lock. Found a lot of the tongue and groove connections were raised. Hammered them down after floor was finished. Seems to be ok for now. Do you think the integrity of the floor is Jeopardized?

You said the Duravana has an attached pad *and* recommends another pad. What's your advice on this? Are underpads that are built-in typically good enough for non-basement (concrete) applications? Dude! Got the Mohawk from Costco. Beautiful product. Had a contractor install it, thought he did pretty good. A painter came by and pointed out the H Joints everywhere!😢 looked deeper into the contractor, he let his license expire. Anyway, I’m hoping to settle for my money back. 1500 sq feet. And the cost of the flooring. I have contacted and attorney too. The unlicensed contractor is pretty prominent in this community. Anyway, here’s my question: can I have a pro do a little at a time? Say when the floor starts to buckle in certain areas, have a pro come in and stagger some parts?

My husband is not tapping the seams at all, because it's not indicated to do so. I am already seeing a couple small short seam gaps. I think it would help to tap the short seams once they are together. He thinks some of the boards just must be wonky...he doesn't think it's necessary, or helpful, to tap the seams. I don't know to to get him on board with this kind of install... I see all the good installers tapping the seams. Annoying it's not in the install instructions.
