Put the shoes back on the plow and set it up for 3/4 inch clearance . I have a 120 foot long stone drive way and have very few stones in my lawn in the spring. I live in tug hill region and get tons of snow.

Actually, what happened in North Carolina is a major land grab going on. The NC government won't let the tiny house the Amish built for them be delivered, they won't even allow campers and trailers delivered. There is big money operators involved to buy up the land. Also, NC has one of the largest Colbalt deposits.

Wow that’s a lot of snow. Cold weather can be as bad as the extreme heat. The last 3 summers have been the hottest record breaking heat on record. I wish there was a perfect place to live. I started watching our skies here in Wisconsin.. I see the planes and chem trails all the time here!! And then it gets warmer than normal here. Get a 3 or 4 inch diameter PVC pipe, cut a slit lengthwise, slide it over your cutting edge with a rubber mallet, done! Your stone driveway will remain intact. I plowed a long path for me and the pooch today, on unfrozen lawn, cleaned it to bare grass and didn't rip a bit of sod. (used my lawn tractor with a plow) You could put it on for your driveway, then remove it in seconds for asphalt drives. Ontario, NY east of Rochester.

Kevin, I was born and raised in Buffalo, but moved to Cleveland 27 years ago. I miss the area, but NOT, NOT the state politics. In fact, we were supposed to drive to Buffalo on Wednesday for Thanksgiving, but when that the snow came .... nope. I've had too many white knuckle drives along that 90 through the years. Back to back polar vortexes in 14’ and 15’ did me in. I was done after that. Quit my job. Best one I’ve had too. Sold most all I owned. Moved to SC with not much of a plan. Now I visit family in Jtown area 2-3 times a year. I’m lovin it in SC. Still gets chilly but no snow. Best part is when it’s cold it’s not wet,snowy and muddy. Can still go about life much more easily. If y’all want to visit or move to Aiken hit me up. I don’t blame you for wanting out of there. It’s very commy run as well. But you already know that! Absolutely agree with you, Kevin. You and your wife need to get out of New York. The weather is indeed being manipulated. Also, earthquakes, and more. The entire east and west coast, the Yellowstone area, Mount St Helens, and the New Madrid fault line clear to the Great Lakes is going to undergo some very hard times that will change even the geographical structure of the land forever. If you are getting the nudge to move out of NY heed that intuition and move as quickly as possible. Don’t ever second guess that intuition. God gave it to us for a reason. It was bound to happen, last year was pitiful here in my neck of the woods in NE Ohio. Think I clean the concrete driveway twice last year. Got 2 snowmobile’s and couldn’t even ride them. Had to cancel our trip to the U.P. because there was no snow.

I don't understand the big problem. Either tell the plow to raise the bottom edge of the blade an inch or two or do it yourself. Would a snow blower work better? If you have chains or snow tires, you can drive over the snow. If you have all wheel drive, you can drive over the snow. If you can't get out because roads are blocked, take it as a vacation. Moving because pebbles in your driveway got moved sounds like an excuse to just want to move.

It is so hard to understand the effect snow has when watching from Australia it must be heartbreaking after all your hard work. I saw a video showing a "plow pipe" home made thing. A three inch pipe, the length of the plow blade. Cut a slot in it for the blade edge to fit down into the pipe. Weld brackets on that you can bolt the pipe on with the cutting edge or in those holes. The pipe prevents the blade from digging into the gravel. I don't have the capability to build one or I would have experience to share. The video looked very good.

Getting older in our 50s is a reality check with cold weather. It’s a pain in the rear end and expensive. We have been getting lambasted in the sky’s as well in Washington state. We were out of power for 10 days and they are squeezing us all. None of the weather here is normal either as the air some mornings look like fog and the air smells like antifreeze.

Used to live in NJ and moved to FL for many years. Then the heat got to me. Live in Georgia now. We get all change of seasons and occasionally a few flurries in the winter. Much easier living. As far as the weather, I don't believe it is being manipulated since we don't have technology for it. Kevin I lived in Northeast PA in the town of Simpson which was under Lake Ontario in NYS to the North. We were about 6000 ft. up there in elevation and just inside the ring for lake effect snowfall. There would be no snow forecast and it would snow 4 inches. I would go out and shovel and then an hour later another 4 inches would fall. And not to mention the large snowfalls of 2 or 3 feet or more. Where you live you need to drive a 4 wheel drive truck or SUV. I needed it in PA and you need it there. It's a necessity. Also a snow rake to pull the snow off your roof before it melts and freezes into ice. I lived there 8 years and after living in NJ for a while, I moved to Oklahoma. The tornado threat is real here. But there is very little snow. And it is way drier year round. They do get ice and hail though. And in the Summer months extreme heat. My SUV was destroyed with rust from living in PA with the liquid salt they spray there on the roads. I replaced it with a car. Out here I saw the same year truck, nearly 20 years old with no rust. They don't need to use salt liquid or rock salt here. Your car stays fine. Also cheaper homes and apartments can be had here and the wilderness is just as pretty.

I live in East Concord NY. Been living there my entire life and I am 62. I have a stone driveway just like you. I snowblow during lake effect. That way I can keep my machine raised an inch above the driveway and I don't disturb the gravel at all. Your biggest issue was your ground isn't frozen yet cuz it's early December here in Western NY. Also check your FACTS on FEMA. There was ONE employee that was warning against approaching homes with Trump signs in front of them. FEMA fired them as soon as they were informed about this. Western NY has been receiving lake effect snow for as long as anyone can remember. I suggest you rethink where you receive your information from if you think the Government is messing with or weather here in New York. I like your channel and you seem like a good person. Don't buy into the BS so easily. Our Country has real problems but weather manipulation isn't one of them Kevin.

100 % true. Don't buy property unless it has a concrete or pavement driveway. I have lived this. We live in a place like that. There is no concrete driveway to park the car in. It's awful. Have to move the car every time someone mows, because we park in the grass yard. All the other places we've lived, there was always a concrete driveway. It's like a luxury to me, after living where there is none for so long.

Doesn’t it snow like that up there? We lived in Indiana, my husband made a heavy V shaped plow that he pulled behind his 4 x 4 truck in heavy snow. He used heavy wooden boards. The rock stayed in place.
