I got a Kala soprano ukulele about two months ago. Since I play mainly rhythm guitar, it took me about an hour to be able to play songs on the uke. I also really love this little guy. It weighs only about 500 grams, is super portable and super fun!

Wow, you’ve joined us! Yay! I’ve been getting so much from your guitar videos, even though I only play ukulele. And now this! I’m over the moon! I’ve been playing for a couple of years. I own an acoustic/electric Lohanu and a Fluke, both in concert size. I also have a soprano size “outdoor” uke, made of resin, which I leave in our outhouse. One never knows when musical inspiration will strike!

Hi Marco, I have been a subscriber for 7 or 8 months and have found you instruction to be amazing. I too picked up the Ukulele about a month ago because my wife is a teacher and wanted to play one for her class. I had so much fun on her's I grabber one myself and I am having a blast. My main instrument is a Harp Guitar. I now am performing a few songs with my set on Ukulele and people love it. What an amazing instrument to bring people together. Thank you for posting this and I hope you enjoy it as much as I am and you do more videos. Cheers, Chuck

The baritone ukulele is a good choice for guitar players. It is tuned DGBE like the guitar. The chords are the same and the sound is soft and lovely. Great for jazz and folk. Would love to see what you would do with the baritone. (That is what I am learning.) Also the same as my Martin Tenor Guitar. Tenor guitars were popular in the 50s and 60s folk era. Love your channel

I own a tenor ukulele made of solid acacia wood. The instrument was designed in Hawaii and built in China. The brand: Hawaii Ukulele and Guitar (HUG). Purchased it on the big island. Very nice sound and well-built. Incidentally, for maximum versatility, I prefer a low G string.
@therealist33594 жыл бұрын
I have owned a ukulele before but switched to the guitar. I have thought about buying a ukulele again just for fooling around with. The baritone would definitely be my choice because the top 4 strings of the the guitar are tuned exactly the same as the 4 strings on the baritone. you could then transfer some songs almost immediately to the baritone from guitar.

I play Ukulele like 5 days now, and I really like your playing! Thanx!!
@TJ-sy6lh4 жыл бұрын
Your playing is absolutely amazing. So beautiful. I’d love to hear you do “Amazing Grace.” Baritone uke tutorials please. It’s tuned like guitar but just top two strings not on a baritone. So it’s DGBE. You should try it. Please let us see what you do with it.
@Madshadowgolem4 жыл бұрын
You'll have to try a Low G string on that, I like Fremont blacklines. Gut strings need to stretch for a.while.before they stabilize. I hope you can check out an all solid wood uke (koa is best if you can get it) some time. The difference is significant especially once it starts to break in and dry a bit. Much more complexity to the harmonics. I sprung for an all solid koa hand made uke and could not be happier.

You can capo the 5th fret on the guitar and use the same guitar chords, but just play the higher 4 strings to mimic the ukulele chords.

Yes Marco, I have a small collection of them, some are electric as well, very fun to play. You probably already know that if you put your capo on the 5th fret of the guitar, the top 4 strings sounds like the uke with a low G.

Great Marco ! I have been playing the ukulele for more than 4 years now and really love it. It's such a cool little instrument and so portable. The ukulele has made an amazing comeback in its' popularity since the early 2000's. Fairly easy for the beginner to learn and enough challenge to become a more skillful player. There are some really good musicians and artists playing the uke. Most noteably, Jake Shimabukuro, James Hill, Tiamane Gardner, Kris Fuchigami, Kalei Gamaio and a few others. There also several remarkable players on youtube. Two twin brothers (forget their names) that posts their playing on youtube are really good. Also check out Ukulele magazine. Looking forward to your videos.

Can anyone tell me what is the name of this style of blues? There are so many different styles and some are a lot more upbeat but I love this style so much. It has so much emotion and it’s moody with those string bends and slides 😍 Marco, I thought I lost this link and searched high and low to find it again! Thanks so much!!! 🙏

I know this was posted a while ago, but before discovering your channel, which I love by the way, I had also come across the Steph video on Instagram. I was so taken by it and wanted to learn this melody but it was hard to figure out from her video. Are you able to give me any tips on the picking pattern you use in this video to simulate her song. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Look for a set of tenor strings that have a low G bass. I prefer that set up on mine, it really turns the uke into a mini guitar
@johndill65944 жыл бұрын
If I play 4 strings, it's got to be the bass guitar! Marco, now that you've opened this door, I would love to see a bass guitar first impression video. I play the bass a lot, so I'm really curious how your finger style and training would influence your bass play. Enjoyed the ukulele video. There's also 12-string and Nashville tuning if you're feeling experimental.

Hola Marco, I fell in love with this ukulele too because of all your inspiring music videos. So I bought the Makai LT 80W and have now exactly the same problem with the C-String. How long did it take until the string finally settled? How could you solve this problem in the end? Thanks a lot. Jane

Hi Marco, I play guitar and you’re lessons are my favorite! I’m looking into getting a ukelele and want to continue with your lessons for ukelele. That said, I suspect your lessons will be for tenor ukes rather than baritone. Right? Trying to choose between a tenor and a baritone. If your lessons are only on a tenor, then my decision will be that! :)
