A friend of mine imported a barra through the port of Tampa a few years back. Customs, DOT, and finally the EPA made him jump through so many hoops he almost gave up and had it sent back. At the end of the day he had to promise the motor was going in a race car and would never be street driven.

Sadly Australia is pretty racist, its mostly because small minorities in different ethic groups have tried to change the 'Australian way' by protesting things like Australia day, Christmas and easter. No not really we have our own v8s in Australia but be4 we had our own v8s we were using chevs back in the 70s, but our v8s r very similar 2 chevs very compatible, Commodore 304 v8s injected from 89 2 99 were really awesome engines.

I've had 3 Barra's now and it's hard to go back to a V8 as the torque & power delivery is amazing. It's ashame they are no longer in production.
