he means to attack in feudal. These people are going fast imp because these two leave them untouched the whole game. You can't produce gbombards in feudal or castle.@@suyashahirrao1080

24:30 would it not have made more sense to aim the bees at the jans rather than the bombards? you'd get almost all of them and then nothing's left to defend the bombards

Well I keep it simple, when i see Otto, I go for Feudal All in, and it has worked out pretty well so far. Over 60% win rate in the current patch.

I loved AoM as a kid (and still do). The civs are so unique to each other and the base max population is so epic (max 300). You can get about 150 pop without going beyond your starting town, but then you need to find the designated town center areas if you want to expand. Like Greek can do anything if you task enough villagers, Atalantean can make anything a hero and can have endless armies of myth units, Egypt have wild economy with free buildings and strong defenses and some flying and sailing myth units, and the Norse have the army actually do the building and generate god favor while fighting! (We don’t talk about the chinese civ, but they’re a “the longer I am alive the more resources I have” yet were really badly implemented, like their ‘scout’ has no vision or speed) The coming remake will balance out god powers a bit more, but as-is they still can fully change up the game though atlantean have multiple charges. Units for each major civ have totally different styles as opposed to rock paper scissors. Sry for the ramble

Me and my friends have been getting rolled by janissary bombard since day 1 of release in team games, and they've only been buffed continually since then lol.

Drongo. The Ottomans need to be buffed. The great bombard is terrible and the jannisaries are useless.

Drongo, what are your thoughts on the Great Bombard in both teams and solos? Playing as a Byz main in solos as soon as imperial hits I know I am done for as they just slowly stack GB for free and without culverin I feel so useless apart from harrassing eco, but with the free units and siege that feels pointless too! Did try using Varangian guard and flanking GB and Jans but then they just added ribs which melted any melae options! A vs ottoman guide would be super handy! Thanks

I thought Ottomans were a problem in team games ages ago when I saw the janissary bombard comp. Guess it turned out to be true. Absolutely disgusting all purpose comp that kills all units and buildings. Reminds me of playing against a protoss deathball.

I'm playing this on xbox with my mates and they always pick Ottomans and as soon as they roll you with like 18 bombards no matter how amazing your walls and defences are you're screwed. They blow through you in seconds and I can't seem to defend against it. Ruins the game for me to be honest.

Would Cataphracts be an option to snipe the great bombards, or is it too expensive or too vulnerable to janissary? Feels like Ottoman was already OP even before the patch, but now it's just ridiculous

I said that in the last video - the cataphact charge is great - but they are also expensive and if defending at base there isn’t much room the make new if a mass charge fails

I guess the idea is that you want to see if you can beat Ottoman in post-Imperial? Cause in team games I feel like if you rush Otto and double team them in feudal like a feudal all in of sorts then that's you best chance and it works pretty decent with that mid feudal/early castle rush

Lol Numbers don’t lie, Jeanne D’Ark has FAR higher winrates than Ottomans, you’re barking up the wrong tree. You simply haven’t figured how to play against it, it’s plain for everyone to see. Simple as that

i spoke too soon, you got close to figuring it out at the end. culverin, mango or nest, archers in front, and cavalry on both flanks. you have the range advantage and your formation can kite the bombards forever. if his units are in front guarding the GBB, they get slaughtered as you kite. if the GBB are in front, they get slaughtered by the culverins. it forces Ottoman to have to pitch battle and commit their entire army to fighting, where you end up having advantage, especially if you do a slow retreat to keep them in siege/unsiege animation never firing.

I solved that by sending firelancer to his base especially his gold at all cost. worked pretty well. its nearly impossible to fight face to face

Hey Drongo, I'm extremely newbie (I don't play the game, just watch you play), would the fire lancers not be good against units like bombards? Edit: I say that and 2 minutes later you're making them, psyched to see the action! Edit2: oh dang, bombards are really op, nice game though :)

Four great bombards with a janissary in them is 20 population and 3.6k gold. If they have lets say 20 sipahy and 40 janissary on the field as their army then thats another 4k gold. When we estimate that around 25% of the gold value comes for free then a whole army costs 5.5k or almost 1.5 small gold veins. Most maps have 4 small and 1 big gold per player. So realistically you need to kill his army ~3times until he runs out of steam. Unless they are trading or the other one playing the pyramid scheme civ is sharing his passive gold income with him...

@@johnnypenso9574 as I said. 25% is assumed free. Ottomans don't get a new army avery 3 minutes for free but he had another one ready 3mins after a fight

@@OptimusCrime4444 You don't need to get a "whole new army for free every 3 minutes". It's the fact that you can field a nearly unstoppable army in early Imperial and then the units keep coming with little effort. You don't need to organize your base to get resources in the perfect macros., the Janis and bombards just show up. Some half-assed macro on the rest of your economy and it's relatively easy to overwhelm your opponent. In other words, a large portion of your macro is done for you and let's face it, if you can protect the bombards you cannot beat the Ottomans.

also, as for trade, against a GBB rushing ottoman, you have all the time to set up trade mid feudal-mid castle age. by 14-15 minutes you should have at least some traders... and work on that granary setup. your doing it wrong. all granaries should be touching in triangle formation

when you made 100000 barracks I think it was a mistake. If you had just 10-15 horses at minute 20:20 from building 5 stables and 5 barracks intsead of 10 barracks you could have destroyed his canons

Playing with Ottomans is boring. Bombard + Janissary + Sipahi composition is just too perfect, you don't need anything else and even if you want something else, they are generic and basic anyway. People kept complaining about Ottomans being weak then we got this. Weakness and strength come and go, every season some civilizations will be beating others. The problem is freedom of choice. Bombards are just too easy to mass, this kills the "boss unit" vibe and literally obliterates the opponent I am set out to share a battlefield. Weakening them defeats the purpose of being great of a bombard too. Make them much more hard to get, give Ottomans horse archers. A way to wage war like the battling birds of prey or fighter jets, fluid and reminiscent of a dance, steppe style. Different from this pitched battle of attrition. Both should be options. These are my humble opinions.
