We always wanted 2 and it was always 2 and we chucked/donated/sold nearly everything and then we decided on no3!!! It is hard, I love having 3 and it feels amazing, but just as when I had 1 I missed being able to focus on one, I miss the days of 2. We were going to get a bigger house anyway but yes we needed a bigger car to fit 3 car seats across the back. But I reached a point where I would see photos of people with 3 kids and feel like I wasn't done. It's definitely taken a toll mentally, but this stage is so short...my 1st born is 7 in 1 week! It feels like no time since I was going to baby groups with her clapping and singing away to hello sun ☀️

You are an absolute hero for surviving the newborn stage and a toddler on your own! I have a 6 month and a 2 and a half year old and I struggled so much in the beginning. Literally I was crying every day and I thought it was absolute nightmare.

Your videos are such a godsend Shan. I’m currently in the trenches (6 week old and 21 month old) and feeling constant guilt that I’m not fulfilling each of their needs. I really love your idea about talking to the newborn the same way you speak to the toddler, I really think that will help to make my toddler feel more seen and get less angry with me. Thank you 🥰

Thank you so much lovely, I was definitely wary of scaring anyone that is expecting their second bubba soon, BUT I think it’s important to be real and honest about these things in case anyone else experiences something similar. That way we know that we’re never alone in any of it ♥️

Thank you for your honesty & transparency. I'm a first time mum and I really struggled in the new born stage & don't have any family around. We had very similar issues, tongue tie, osteopath and she's got a cows milk allergy so its been really tough. As my first child I really regret how much pressure I put on myself & didn't enjoy it more! I wish I could turn back time & thinking this way doesn't help but it is what it is and next time I will just give into it ;)

Watching this has bought me so much comfort. I heard throughout my entire second pregnancy how it’s so much easier going from 1 - 2 than it is going from 0 - 1. That was not my reality at all, even now I’m still struggling so much more than I thought I would be. I have a 4 month old and a 2 and a half year old. It’s so so much more demanding and harder (to me) than it was when I had just my eldest. Hearing other people who’ve had similar experiences makes me feel like less of a failure or a bad mum, it’s just nobody around me has felt this way and have all found it easier the second time around

My husband and I are both in the RAF so I can relate! I am 35 weeks pregnant with our first, still in work (which is so so hard!), and already bracing myself for the reality of my husband being away next year for 3 months and being away from me and our baby girl..... cannot wait for us to both be able to live a civilian life, the prospect of leaving is just scary.

Ahh wow this does sound tough! It really does take a special breed to do this whole military / family thing, it’s deffo not for the faint hearted! What I would say is, obviously it’s hard but I am so incredibly proud of myself for doing so much on my own when Ash was away. It was a lot of pressure, but I did it anyway and nothing beats the pride that gives me. You’re a strong mama already my love, you 100% have got this🙌🏻 also, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but the hive baby groups that RAF do are usually free and I actually met two of my best pals at one of those groups when A was based at an RAF camp for a while! Meet people that understand your situation and you’ll get through together 💪🏼

Have you heard the rhyme ‘something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read’ with regards to Christmas gifts, we used this last year with our baby and I think we will continue the tradition to try to stop us over spending and going crazy, we don’t want a Dudley Dursley situation haha! Hey I would just add be careful with natural cycles if you are breastfeeding as your fertility window is all over the place. I only just got my period back and had a bit of a shock when it took 2 months to get another one. It was a stressful couple of weeks and many pregnancy tests later 😂

Appreciate the honesty, I hope you continue to do okay. Just a quick note, honestly saying this as a helpful steer not meant as a nitpick - I think your shutter speed/frame rate might have got knocked out of place for this video, but sentiment over substance, your personality and editing far shine through. 'Done' is 100% better than 'perfect', I'm terrible for getting hung up over this stuff myself! opposite issue! Hope this reads with the warmth it was written with, wanting your channel to go from strength to strength

I'm currently on maternity my boy is 12 weeks tomorrow, I worked all the way up till the week I was due even though they tried to get me to finish early as I was struggling I work in retail and I was doing 5/6am starts and I had to change my shifts from 5 days a week of short shifts to 4 longer ones just so I'd have an extra day off to rest not that I ever did I always found something at home to organise haha , I only get 3 months full pay then the 2nd 3 months is half pay ( I believe from statory pay?) I have no clue how it works haha I'm in Wales so might be different, But I've chosen to only take 6 months off as I can't afford half pay let alone no pay, My last month of maternity pay though will be my holidays I've saved so I get 6 weeks holiday and that will be full pay as its contracted holidays ect, I was originally gonna take 3 months off but they kept saying please don't because you will be upset and might not cope ect and need time to bond with thr baby and 3months is too soon ect so glad I didn't now haha, But I'm only confused because my first month pay thr first 2 weeks of it was the weeks I actually worked so hsd pull pay of that thrn had like 50 wuod from work for week 3 and 400 plus from statory? Idk it fries my brain fp .
