A brilliant video, thanks Chris. My most successful book has a CTR of 0.52, a conversion rate of 1 in 10, and cost per click of 0.48. This is actually a manual campaign that I've tweaked to death over the last year 😂, and as you say, you must pay close attention to these metrics to make sure you aren't wasting your time or money! Thanks for being the voice of reason amongst all the hype!

one main problem is that 10% of books on Page 1 make 90% of sales. Which leaves 10% of sales for the remaining 90% other books. even if you are on page one, with good traffic, great ctr, great conversion rate, etc... it is not easy at all to make decent money.

Fantastic video with proper illustrations. Please I would like to know if you advertise in marketplaces like Canada and Australia. Please if you do, what is your success rate.

Hey Chris, great video. It is my first month running ads and I am getting sales so the ratios and points to consider are really helpful. How do I tell if I am getting organic sales? Is it just comparing the Orders reported in the Campaign manager with the Orders in the Reports area, and if the Reports number is greater than the Campaigns number then those are organic?

You have described my exact situation right now, point by point. I really appreciate this videos becaus I found a lot of answers for too many questions I had about my KDP journey, especificaly about my last lanunch. I just have one question that I'm not able to answer or find any place on internet. I happened that my first lauch month (not exactly at the begining, just more or less) my book performanced quite good in terms of impression and clicks. It got ranked quite good in the first page but now, in the second month, with almost the same CPC I'm having way less impresions and way less clicks in general. Why is that? Maybe becaus of the honey moon of the first month from Amazon? However is getting organic sales. I'm freaking out because I cannot explain that. To be honest, at same point I reduced drastically the CPC and maybe that caused a damage in the campaing. Thanks so so mucho for this video!!

Thank you for this video! I've been trying to figure out a proper strategy for book development throughout last year. I had a successful coloring book made with AI in early March however eventually it got some critical reviews and faded off somewhat (although it still sells ok despite some negativity in the reviews). So I figured if I make a better book it would be a more sustainable success. Spent $400 to make a better book with an illustrator on the same topic... and it just didn't go off that well. Same with the next one. And the next one. At the same time I see lots off pretty garbage books that sell well. So I figured that luck is a major factor with kind of generic (non-author-specific) books in popular niches and there's no point in investing a lot of money in any particular book. However good it might be it just might not take off for whatever reason.

Letting a book go is an important lesson. I had a book that performed really well for a bit but then stopped selling much despite running ads. It's a book that is only relevant for 2024, so really I don't care that much about it. Another book which annoys me more is an AI coloring book I made that I put heaps of effort into. It has like 50 pages and is in my opinion genuinely the best book of its keyword niche but just doesn't sell much and is like 250% ACOS over its lifetime (and only getting worse.) I think it might be the cover cos the interior is good. Might mess with the cover/A+ content/listing a bit but I'm going to lower adspend significantly.

Worked hard on a project, only getting sales with ads. Too much ad spend upfront and not sure how to handle that. Ad cost is so expensive. Do you advertise in all the marketplaces or just one?

My struggle is 2 books iny series sell well and 5 don't sell at all. Publishing more books in a niche is not always a good idea.

Great video as always Chris. I'm having the front page volatility issue with an Easter coloring book released earlier this month. It's currently at 0.58% CTR with 118 clicks. Would you say this is normal for seasonal books due to competition? By the way, thanks for the darker background!

Thanks for another great video Chris - Quick Question: When you change a book cover on a book that has previously made sales, do you have to disclose it is the same book with a different cover to prevent confusion and the possibility of a person rebuying the book thinking it is a different book altogether? (hope that makes sense...)🤔
@ChrisRaydog9 ай бұрын
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure if the same customer comes back they will see a notice on screen that they purchased the item before. I will check this but thats my understanding

How important are reviews? Why don’t authors trade reviews, or is that prohibited by Amazon?
