I think that one of the most profound things out of all of this is the fact despite it being six years later, everything still feels off. This video was released after the election night, but 2016 as a whole felt like a fairly positive experience until then. This was the Summer of Pokemon Go. This was the year that I and many others can remember having our innocence and feeling of joy now lost to us in tact. The most bad thing most of us choose to remember to signify the badness of 2016 is the death of Harambe. It just feels like ever since then there has been an air of disillusionment from everyone. Everyone thought Clinton was gonna win, but then we see a massive shattering of expectations and everything turned... sour? Ever since then, it feels like regardless of what happens, regardless of how old we get, there really isn't any ending in sight. Even after Trump left office and Biden stepped in, it feels like regardless of what we do there is an eternal spinning of cogs that simply grind on without end. Hopefully by the time 2024 hits, this comment will be irrelevant and lost to the sands of time, discussing an age gone by where we were struggling and instead technological improvements or humanitarian efforts give a bit more hope that the world is gonna get better.
@Snowie7826 Жыл бұрын
It all feels off because America's problems run deeper than which colour jersey is running the country. Neither of them give a rats about you; stop waiting for them to start caring. It's not going to happen. Positive change has to come from the people. Don't sit around and wait to be saved.

i know you probably won't check this comment but i just thought this was important; i rember when my depression was really bad at the peak of quarntine and i had no friends yet, i found this video after a week or two of finding your channel. I was up at about 3 or 4 am crying to your beautiful singing of the songs my moms raised me on just a few years ago, for a breif momment in those 3 minutes and 36 seconds everything felt so calm. its been a little less than three years since that night, and i got a lot worse than that at one point, but through it all i always looked back on this and kept listing to music or your videos when i was sad. After three years, i finally have a calmish and happy life. And i owe atleast a bit of that to the lucky late night i found your mythology videos, watching yt in the living room while my moms were asleep. Thank you so much Red, for making the last three years a bit easier. And I know the next three, and the three after that, and so on will be too. Thank you, for nerding out about mytholgy on youtube.

@mothafraker3 жыл бұрын
@Eleanor Murray 91 (STUDENT) Wow, You actually think this is about public health?!!! The suspended election would tell you otherwise if you used critical thinking skills. Those that would trade their freedom for security deserve neither, and will lose both.
@mothafraker3 жыл бұрын
@Eleanor Murray 91 (STUDENT) Of course. I didn't intend any insult. I apologize if any was given.. Having dealt with lock downs and seeing how things played out down here... Hearing about how the Canadian Government is handling this whole situation sickens me. Most of what I know about Canada's situation comes from a Canadian lawyer whose channel I follow. Your compassion is clear and obvious. But you've been sold a bill of goods. We all have been. But the fact is COVID-19 isn't anywhere near as dangerous to most people, as we were told it was. I know that for some it truly is deadly. And those people absolutely should take precautions. But to treat largely healthy populations the way the US and Canada have is abhorrent. And I know that here in America, the COVID death figures are way over inflated. If you tested positive yet died of cancer or heart disease that was going to kill you soon anyway they STILL list COVID-19 as cause of death. Our lockdowns all but killed our economy which, by the was better that it had been in years. And our civil rights were trampled on. In some places the state governments were telling residents not only where they were allowed to shop, but what they could and couldn't buy. Including seeds to plant in a vegetable garden. Another thing to consider is that totalitarian government power grabs are usually made under the guise of public health. I mean, who could possibly be against public health measures.... So when I heard about the Canadian government's almost unanimous vote to suspend elections until the pandemic ends...... Leading me to think it likely won't anytime soon if ever. The US government would do this as well if they could. I mean we where told that the lockdown was only supposed to last 15 days. Yet here we are 548 days later..... Once a government takes power it never relinquishes it. They're counting on your(and others like you) compassion to allow them to do this, knowing you won't look too closely. Don't lose your compassionate nature. Rather temper it. And for your own sake and that of Canada's future, watch your government like a hawk and trust nothing they or the media tell you. Neither have your best interests at heart.

I’ve watched this channel since it was only about a year old (something I am very proud of as it is the first instance of me ever liking something before it was cool) and I come back to this video quite often. There’s something so overpowering about existential fear, to know that someone who does not know you and will never meet you now has your life in his hands, and would sell your life for a couple extra dollars in his bank account. It’s hard to know what to do in these circumstances, because even if you were to shout as loud as you possible can, people in ivory towers will never hear (they weren’t listening in the first place). But one thing you can do is simply lie down, listen to some lullabies, and think, “Ok. I’ll pick up the battle again tomorrow morning. For now, I will rest.”

This was just recommended to me, we're waking but the nightmares are staying, at least now we can fight back I suppose. Stay strong everyone, take care of yourselves and be safe

I have a strong assumption as to what political party you support and to be frank I don't care. All I care is that your content is great and you seem like a nice person, things we as people should always strive to look for in others because at the end of the day we are all people and no one is above anyone else.

FreezerBurn21 Unfortunately, those on both sides seem to miss that ideology, which really should be more mainstream :((

I agree I don't give a fuck is she is a democrat; but don't get mad when people call you a butt hurt snow flake.

woodchuck 00 I don't know if I'm reading it right, but maybe don't be a jerk to people?
@Stettafire7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I think two people should be able to disagree on something without hurling insults at each other. Disagreeing with someone is okey, I encourage people not to take everything at face value. However, being a jerk over it is dumb. I'm glad that not everyone is like that.

That's as real a video as any you make. It was quite lovely, thank you for sharing it.

watching this four years later, I just want to say, as a Chinese, I'm not very educated in American politics, but I wish you all good luck, my American siblings. Whatever happens, keep carrying through. Stay safe and take care

ya know, i understand the reason for her making this video and although i definitely wasnt happy with what happened and definitely not at a point where i would have needed this vid, i really like that she made it because it shows she really does care about other people and that's not a very common quality to come across (at least not in my personal, perhaps slightly cynical experiences), so, though years too late, i would like to say thank you, red, for being a kind, and genuine person.
