Funny you should mention "Twelfth Night", considering I'm involved in a production that one hundred percent solves the love triangle with polyamory (with a very Benedick/Beatrice relationship between Orsino and Olivia where one of them broke the other's heart and now they're both bitter about it). *And* leaves Sebastian and Antonio to be boyfriends because c'mon, Billy Shakes, you can't write that kind of dialogue for Antonio and expect people not to ship them.

10:17 now I want a realistic story where they use real world hypnosis in order to join into the inner struggle and the visualization is something the hypnotist specifically asks for and that the mind controlled verbalises, since describing a fictional scene doesn't go directly against their brain washing. So we still get the battle scene described to us, but it's clear that in-world it's more theatre of the mind than a literal arena manifest in their psyche.

take it as a constructive criticism: NEVER INSULT OUR GODS! KRISHNA TOOK REFUGE OF 16000 PRINCESSES/QUEENS BECAUSE SOCIETY WOULDN'T ACCEPT THEM FOR BEING KIDNAPPED BY A TYRANT(as if it were their choices to be kidnapped). HE TOOK THEM IN AND KEPT THEM WITH DIGNITY UNTIL THE DAY HE DIED. HE WAS FAITHFUL ONLY TO HIS ORIGINAL 4 CONSORTS EDIT: every other joke was tolerable and i really enjoyed your vid.

Three points occur: ▪︎English has no central authority controlling the language. Nor does it need any such authority. The closest we come is the Oxford English Dictionary, though that august body has lately developed a distressing habit of failing to establish whether or not novel forms are more than usually ephemeral. ▪︎More folk now speak English as a second or third language than as their native tongue. Worryingly, many will acquire their English from TV, or by 'Telephone' (wherein a word, phrase or idea loses it's original meaning during repeated transmission from person to person), be that by native or non-native speakers. Online translation tools have added another source of error formerly restricted to those over-reliant on dictionaries. ▪︎Living language evolves, however much that irritates those possessing an at best ambivalent attitude towards notions of progress. There were adjectives to describe such folk, but they're likely considered 'curmudgeonly old gitist' these days ... says a fully paid up curmudgeon!

Half OK, half not OK. The Mongolian conquest meant nothing but a huge destruction. Thank God it lasted for a short time only. They killed who knows how many exactly, but fair estimate is around half of the population in their way. The necrometrics page tells that Dzhingis Khan was responsible for killing of 40 million people, making him the biggest murderer in human history, in tie with Stalin and Mao (40-40-40 million for all). That page is edited by historians, go there and look around. I can tell that when the Mongols invaded Bagdad, they formed three huge pyramids of skulls at the gate, where the the intelligence was forced to stand up and chose to to either serve the Mongols (strenghtening their abilities to kill even more efficiently) or die. This is how the mathematician at-Tusi decided to serve the Mongols (after they killed all his family to his last sibling as well), and in fact this scene was written by him, too. Half of population in the Carpathian basin was killed by the Mongolians, and actually, this was the time when people from West Balkans came into the deserted sides of the Danube and the plains eastward from the Carpathians (Ruthenians and Romüns). So, not any good. But fire, smoke, blood and destruction. Concerning Venice, they had nothing to do with the Islam in terms of culture. That time the Middle East was half muslim - half Christian, and actually the muslims were colonizing the lands, forcing the Christians to convert or die. The crusades were a legitimate and unsuccesfull answer to this threat - when you consider the fall of Byzantine, the erasing of Christians from Syria, Lebanon, Irak, Egypt, Libia, Algeria and the attepmt to erase the Christians from Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria and the Hungarian Kingdom for example, you'll see how distorted this interpretation is. Consider also the largest extension of the Ottoman empire, and you will see that Europe cearly lost the crusades. Here Venice started to position itself as the New Constantinopole, and while yes, they have robbed practically everything that they could reposition at the Laguna - half buildings, treasuries, even relics etc.etc. from Constantinopole, Jerusalem, Aleppo, Alexandria, Damascus and who knows where from - they did not _interchange_ much with the muslims. They wanted to force the muslims back from the Middle East, not to strengthen them there. So in essence, yes, BUT. There is no "wokeish reinterpretation" of what happened. There is no reason to celebrate of the "rich interactions of cultures", because what happened did happen indeed - and it was vastly destructive, and destructive a lot. And this is exactly why and how Europe was kept in - let's be honest - relative poverty of working philosophical intelligence. There were great minds there, but people had to go to war and construction, instead of mathematics, science, philosophy and art.

This is an Excellent trope talk and my partner had to wait a solid 20 minutes before hitting play to hear me ramble about omniscient reader's viewpoint (and another 20 at the end) (and a couple pauses in the middle). That story has about about every possible Kind of heroic sacrifice, including a FANTASTIC bit where the main character is confronted about the selfish undercurrents of his own repeated attempts to sacrifice himself, that he's deciding arbitrarily what would be best for everyone he cares about and what will make them happy, and that he never considers that he's part of their happiness. I think about the line [What if the ending they wanted was to die with you there? It isn't salvation. It's a curse.] every day of my life.

I kinda thought I mentioned this already but I can't find my comment. There was a story in...Action comics? Where after a LOT of work Lex ends up basically a god and, of course the first thing he does is grab Superman. He says he wants to make him see what it feels like to lose and see pain. So, supes says, "ok you wanna know what makes me hurt?" And Lex thinks it'll be some planet he couldn't save or something. Turns out it's when Clark's dad died and he couldn't save him. Lex kinda has a BSoD moment and says, "You're Clark Kent." (in this timeline, I think they'd known each other since they were kids) and Clark says, "yep. we're not that different." And Lex, being Lex, goes BALLISTIC. Not only can't he believe anybody with that kind of power would hide like that, he screams that it's unfair he had that kind of power AND a stable happy family life, when Lex...didn't
