Your sharping technic ( a few videos back ) are right on . I followed your technic on my hatchet it came out so sharp that just got back from the Hospital getting my 5 stitches. All I did was pick up a double axe and hatchet from the trailer using my right hand and turned around for the barn and just finely rubbed the hatchet on my left hand . I like the curved handle, gives you that extra little snap at the end of the swing. As long as you hit the wood with the head first, the handle is in no danger. Have a great day!

Looking at the finished product at the end, I was thinking that the head should have been fitted lower on the the handle, like there was too much skinny before the meat of the union there? Just judging by other handles that I've seen you do. I guess every axe is different. :)

I wonder what's the cheapest ax for for a poor fellow. Family gots a log splitter I can use , but would like a start at a little splitting some pine and white and black oak. I only got a small boys ax for banging wedges . Any one that can tell me a cheap ax with wood handle, just to get me in the game. To be honest I'm thinking about an ax from harbor freight for 29 bucks. Got use all my extra money for bar oil and gas and mix.
