Talk of nostalgia, I own an '88 Suburban. It was purchased new the same year I was born by my Grandpa, and was the first vehicle I had driven. He would let me drive down our driveway on his lap when I was a couple years old. When he died it became my Moms, and our primary vehicle, so naturally it was the vehicle I learned to drive on. About 10 years ago I drove it solo from Ontario, Canada to L.A. then up the coast and back, living out of the back of it during that time. Eventually I took over the ownership. Now its my house renovation workhorse. I feel like ill be buried in it.

I still have my '89 K5 sitting in my backyard, with both a blown motor and transmission and now also rusting away from 20 years of sitting, but I DON'T CARE! I still have dreams of bringing it back to life someday and love it more than my current (actually running) truck. It took me 6 months of searching in '95 before I found the right one, and for the time that it was my Daily driver it was a good, faithful truck. With front and rear TrueTrac differentials and 31" mud tires, it was an absolute MONSTER in the snow but about the most dangerous vehicle on earth on ice.

Keep it and fix it definitely. Crew cab c30s are extremely hard to find even if every weld is bad and the wiring is a nest. Take the time a make it into what it deserves to be.
@afkaz2 жыл бұрын
Definitely. I'm fixing the wiring on my 88 Suburban that has been farm boy'd to hell and back. It's honestly not that hard, just time consuming. It's worth the time and effort.

Take the time to restore the truck. There is a good market for them especially with towing capacity.

that body style with 7.4L was notorious for running hot, I worked at chevy during the early 90s. So the problem was restriction of air flow opening in core-support was too small and the 93 gm diesel 6.5L turbo front bumper had two holes for turbo flow. cheap fix for that truck without cutting structure.

Thats my old neighbors truck thats awesome, that thing is a beast. The rear driver shock got blown out when he had it lowered and hit a bump. so he took it out. 6 owners ago bought it from kenneth Montgomery

I hope to see Rich fix this up, maybe just to the point of fixing it in a way of how you should do it, even on a budget.
