I don't understand why people believe that a famous singer or actor would contact them on social media. It happens over and over, though. It's sad because these scammers are professionals. They know exactly how to hook "super fans". Every time I hear the term super fan, I can't help but think of Kimberly on 90 Day fiance. I had never heard the term before, but it definitely got worn out on that show.

Another thing to keep in mind is this: because this trusting woman sent LOTS of $, it's very likely that she'll be targeted by more twisted thieves. Many will promise to get her lost money returned - for a fee of course. Everyone must stay vigilant, especially online.

I have been the victim of a celebrity romance scam myself. The scammer pretened to be a frontman. I should have listened to the little voice that was screaming in doubt. Hope this helps her heal. These people are awful. Also, I hope this doesn't stop her from enjoying the real artists music.

I can't believe l fell for a fake profile of Sandro Soncha a Brazilian actor . I had no idea who he was at the time. He claimed to belong a religious group. It was not a romantic interest it was more of religious business deal because he claimed his was Robert Diego A widower and his son. I sent him thousands because l thought leas going to help with his business and make a profit. I'm stupid . I am married and he never was disrespectful or romantic. So l thought he could be trusted .

If the money manager can send money to the victim, why didn’t he send the scammer his portion? Why does this victim need to send money to the scammer when his money manager is supposed to do all that? This is the sort of thing victims need to pay attention to. Never send a stranger your bank information. A person that you only communicate through phone or text is still a stranger. I have never given my personal information to any of my boyfriends and I knew them in person. One even suggested that we “combine our expenses“ this guy was a police officer and I didn’t trust him or anyone else with my personal information.

Probably used the time difference to use the guys instagram photos. The scammer would watch the real instagram closely, then as soon as something was posted the scammer would steal it and post on his fake instagram. He would then message the victim and she would then check both and see the photos.

Well, it was at least a new script and fairly creative at that...nonetheless, the request for 500 gave it all away. At that point, always block and run!

The real one is a famous Nigeria rap star. He's pretty well known in that part of the world. I had not heard of him until this person brought me the story.
