i to i review

In the video, I reviewed the online TEFL course (120 hours) by i-to-i. If you're thinking about taking an online TEFL course and / or wondering about the one offered by i-to-i, you might find this review useful. Oh, and i-to-i didn't pay me to make this video just in case you were wondering :)

I am really leaning toward the "i-to-i" tefl course. Ben teaches english youtube channel got his tefl through them back in the old days. I just contacted them and sometimes they have discounts where it is only $200 for the level-5. 180 hour tefl. I will be graduating with my Bachelors Degree in a little over 1 year!

A good, honest appraisal. I enjoyed the course, which included classroom. However, I agree with you that the value is the experience because the qualification isn't recognised. It would definitely boost your confidence and ability to do a recognised qualification at some later point.

Nice info on the i to i. I'm looking to take one of the two courses. Quick question for you....as you are in the Country i most want to teach in one day(Japan). I'm well aware that without a university degree, visa in Japan is next to impossible....do you hear of any exceptions to this? For example teaching in cities noone else wants to?

Hi :) Sorry for the VERY late reply. I ended up finishing my teaching contract in Japan and so on and I only just re-checked my emails >.< In most cases a uni degree is probably required, as far as I know. I personally don't know anybody who taught in Japan without one, at least who taught "officially". But I hear that some of the other Asian countries aren't nearly as strict about it. The bright side is, it can be ANY university degree (my undergraduate degree was in IT). Some institutes are offering bachelor's degrees in 2 years now (each year having 3 trimesters). So with a 2 year investment, you could have what you need to go abroad and teach English :)

Thank you for the video. Can I ask you why you still decided to get a TEFL certification with i-to-i when you already have 2 years of teaching under the belt and currently even teaching in Japan? Oh and are you a native speaker?

Sorry for the late reply. Well, I had 2 years of experience but no qualification, so I wanted to get something, even if it was just an online course. And yeah, I was born in Australia.
