On a semi-related note, I'm suddenly reminded of a conductor quote from one of my orchestra's rehearsals a couple years ago: "This is -- I'm sorry about the wording -- a very horny movement." Also: working with a conductor as a soloist is a different experience, isn't it? It took me until I was 31 to finally perform as a soloist with an orchestra, and I was surprised by both how nervous I got at my first rehearsal with the orchestra (especially considering I'd played solo passages as principal violist in the same orchestra before) and how I ended up having to act almost as a second conductor in rehearsals. Would love to hear more thoughts on collaborating with conductors.

Ay carajo, pero no te preocupes por eso. They know your a mainlander so its chill, but it still pretty emabrassing, I cant imagine going to another country to play and be a soloist. Thats pretty cool m'dude you are already going places. I SAW SOMEONE MARKING THEIR MUSIC!!!! if you dont have a pencil what type of muscian are You???? Also my orchestra teacher played your kingdom of hearts cover in class the other day and i was having a mini freak out moment since my teacher knows who TVK is?!?!?! Part of me wanted to write this entirely in Spanish so you could practice your Spanish. BuT yOuR performance wILl go FiNe. Los problemas "excitantes" no van a regresar para hacerte la vida miserable. Have a nice performance!

I'm a native Spanish speaker and I didn't even know that exitante meant that. Like- honestly I was filled with doubt, so I checked it out... you right. Also, don't give up on Spanish! Learning other languages is really cool :) Hope you have a great day Drew!!

At least you had the guts to speak a language that isn't your native tongue. Spanish is the 2nd most important language in America, so it's great that you studied it and put it to some use in the Dominican Republic. Canadians have to deal with French up until grade 9....😭🤣🎻🎼🎶

Drew don't worry, I've had my fair share of embarrassment travelling....Like asking where are our butts instead of suitcases in spanish or could I have your female part instead of pencil in mandarin... it keeps life interesting. Don't give up, mistakes are how we learn and make friends.
