As a long time watcher, I've always appreciated the fluid format. Each era has its own flavor. Mixing it up is what keeps it fresh for me. Also love the different teammates. For the oled, I've had issues with them before. Leave it charging overnight, after hold down the power button for (no kidding) 1 minute, and see if there are any signs of life.

Was just about to comment this. Sometimes you just have to hold the power button down for a good minute, then let go, and tap it once more and it'll power back on. My Mario edition Switch does that every so often.

There's a big market on ebay for switch that don't work. Also, just because it doesn't work in your hand, sometimes the screen is dead and it works in the dock. I have a switch that screen doesn't work but it works perfectly fine while docked.

If a switch doesn't come on after being charged for a long while. Could be a dead battery, during lockdown Nintendo posted that if you do not charge your switch within 3 months the battery could fail. So try a battery swap maybe, if not could be another issue board level. My guess is chargeport, so many people destroy those things.

Don't give up on the switch yet. Hear me out. I live in canada, I work 6 months a year on the opposite side of the country. A couple years back I went to work and when I came home 6 months later I turned on my switch and got nothing. I tried everything. I checked it every half hour for about 7 hours and nothing. So I gave up on it thinking it was dead. But I forgot to unplug it from the dock. A couple days later I noticed it and tried it again and it turned on. So don't give up too soon there is still a possibility it will work.

Living life is unfortunately a game and you can't win all the time so you have the take the wins with the losses and keep moving forward. The switch could be salvageable especially if you give it to one of those people that like to dissect and do some massive repairs on a whole array of systems so that would be your next avenue to pursue. Still any swap meet/flea market where you find a few things for yourself is one experience with a positive outcome at the very least.
