Real talk ….do “regular people” you know think your games are junk?
@greedo502732 ай бұрын
Hey! Congratulations. You fell for the oldest trick in the book!!! You should have known that console collecting is a gateway drug to arcade game collecting :-). Just wait until you start collecting pinball :-)!!!! Quick note ... the Neo Geo cabinet seems to be water damaged badly ... you can either convert your NeoGeo MVS board to run on a television (many easy ways to do that), or you can get a new cabinet. Chances are the monitor can be repaired if it doesn't work properly. There are MANY arcade game collectors in SoCal that will certainly help you out!! (I would, but I'm on the opposite side of the country :-). The Marvel vs. Capcom is a CPS2 boardset. Wait until you learn about all of the other games you'll be able to play on it. MvC is in an old Atari cabinet ... likely either Dig Dug or Centipede (gotta watch the rest of the video ... but I had to FINALLY make a comment ... I knew this was coming. It is inevitable. It is your destiny ... mu hah hah ... mu hah hah (or something along those lines). PS !Quiero ganar una carta cafe! Estoy muy perezosa y no tiene usar un teclado del epsanol ... excusame por los errores gramaticos!

Huge props, guys. Honestly, even a lot of retro stores and fellow collectors around here won't even touch arcade cabinets. One of my buddies summed up like this: Cabinets have three huge problems: size, weight, fragility. They take up a LOT of space, they're a nightmare to move with their weight, and they're notoriously fragile. Not only could they break with one wrong hit during transportation, but they're a pain to repair. There aren't a lot of people well versed with the skills to repair them, plus the spare parts on top of that.

Don't forget how Obsolete they are. The best two reasons why they ar Obsolete is because Accurate Emulation or Increased accessibility has reduced the Importance of Original Hardware. Finally and the most Powerful is that these Games have become Bigger than any Platform let alone any Form Factor. So for many it's like Do you really want a Full Cab when you can grab a Mister, Build or buy an accurate Control Deck for your Preference and Bam. But I will add that Free Cabs kinda reduce the Perception of the two points I tried to make 😅

Research CPS2 suicide battery a little bit. I would assume based on the condition of the machine that the game is still running on its original 90s battery. That's not unheard of, but also it's due for a battery change or replacing with a modchip/infinikey type solution. It's not a matter of will it die, but when. Luckily the CPS2 boards can be resurrected now because the security is cracked.
