If your looking for a good value v8 you want a Jaguar XFR. Sound lovely and with minor mods can achieve 600hp... Oh and not forgot alot more comfortable than most cars in its class!

Mate if you want any advice the sports Maserati forum is a great resource. Mine had check gerabox and wouldn't start turned out to be a faulty battery replaced that and has been fine ever since

A step up? it would be a stitch up, whatever anyone buys the car for, will cost the same in repairs, these cars have inherent faults which are really expensive to fix, and 135k miles its not even a good one, the seller knew the faults and hid them well with laughter and fast talking, was happy to get rid in my opinion.
