I went on a cruise in August to the Caribbean (aboard the Caribbean princess) and the medallions are a lot better than the key card. They sell a wrist band and it is expensive but worth it 100%.

Which excursion was that of el arco? Did they stop to let you take pictures?

It wasn't a cruise excursion, it was run by locals so it was much cheaper, and they did let us stop to take as many photos as we wanted :)
