“Languages you might like to see more focus!” Chinese, Celtic and Georgian languages are always fun because of how different they sound to anything else :-) thanks again for the video!!! Edit- would you do a language tier list of your favorites? Could make for a funny and interesting watch to see your reasoning

I have done it already! I'm just waiting to finish all speedruns first

Can I just say I am really, really impressed with how well you spoke Dutch! There are a lot of foreigners in The Netherlands that have been living here for years and don't speak Dutch half as well as you. Petje af! (aka great job)

I loved this video!! As someone that can speak both Afrikaans and Dutch it's so interesting to see you learn both of them. Although it's been so long since I've spoken Dutch that I sometimes find myself default to Afrikaans when I speak Dutch.

Cool! Glad you enjoyed it. It happens often with similar languages, same happens to me with Spanish and Catalan

I agree, even though I am Dutch I do want to practice Afrikaans to see how quickly I can learn it, sadly Duolingo doesn't have it 😭

let me throw a lot of random impressions on this video real quick. The afrikaans part was golden, although the Dutch was also great. Wait, if engels means english.....so the name of the philosopher "Friedrich Engels" means "The english Fred"? LMAO mindblown. If you are weirded out by the word "Kameelpard" in afrikaans, know that this word also exists in english: "camelopard" is as valid english as "giraffe". Apparently, this was the OG name for giraffe and came from latin. Blame the romans for being weird on that one, not the South Africans. lolol "lekker" and "sussie" sounds like "lecher" and "sissy" even though they are not even close in meaning. also, I see some SOV in Dutch....a bit like german...SOV languages have a special place in my heart since I can communicate basic things in japanese, one of the languages that shaped me as a person. I would like to see Hungarian classes next!
@jccbm Жыл бұрын
It will never stop being a camel horse to me 🐫 🐎 Also, it's technically not SOV, it's what's called a V2 (verb in the second position), which can end up being various combinations (SVO and VSO even). And frequently bend go to the end as well. It's quite a mess 😵
