Nate, nice seeing mom out with you. You are just so lucky, I remember cutting those trees down so I could make some petrified wood, they got scared when I started and trembled after I felled the trees and it was very clear that they were very frightened, yet they accepted their fate and none of them ended up being so scared that they were petrified, I intended returning but I had heard a rumble and was told by some migrating birds that Egypt had started making a huge skating park but didn't really know about how the tops should be finished so the ended up pointed, I went but it was closed for a ceremony that lasted decades, I went elsewhere and ended up designing a garden with loads of plants hanging down everywhere.

Oh my gosh, your Mom is such a treasure! I can see where you get your rock-hounding from. I can see you dragging stuff home to show her and her being all happy and thanking you and telling you what it is. lol I sure miss my Momma I would drag flowers and rocks home she would show them off like they were the best thing on the planet lol. Nice stuff! Your mom is so cool. I liked the pumice with the tiny agates. The wood was spectacular. The flint/chert where I am is a dull pale pale green. The stuff you find is amazing. Thanks.

Wow Nate! You and your mom both found some amazing pieces. Your mom seems like such a sweetheart. I just adore her, from this video and the others I've seen her in. The excitement from her and shock she was in when you found those two huge pieces of petrified wood was priceless.✨️ They are pretty fabulous, along with the beautiful smaller ones. I was so happy to see that she found some big pieces of petrified wood at the end. Her biggest piece is incredible! You found quite a few bigger pieces of pet wood. The chert you both found is fantastic! I love that California chert and those colors. I was thinking that your mom was probably going to have a great day when she found that beautiful geode right off the bat. I'm pretty sure that is a volcanic rock with the little agate nodules that formed in it's bubbles. If you look at the ends the pits/empty gas bubbles are fairly round, on the sides they are pretty oblong shaped. I think that this rock was shot out of a volcano and that's why the side pits are oblong, from the force of it flying through the air as it cooled and dried somewhat. Just a thought, but I'm no expert. Thanks so much for sharing this fun creek rockhounding trip! Looking forward to part 2!✌️🤠🤘

same here , then about 6 years ago I started thinking about it and decided there must be the whole forrest of course.. and went, and sure enough.... its steep and has crazy over burden but under it all must be the forrest laying there still.
