My kids are grown and moved on too. I stay close to them but I miss their sweet childhood. 🥺 I'll never forget when my first child was born, my dad said, "Blink your eyes and he'll be grown." That moment feels like it was yesterday! That 5lb 11oz baby boy is now a 25 year old man. And the older you get, the faster it goes!

Soak it all in and cherish every second. My 2 girls are grown now and both live really far away, but I have wonderful memories of epic road trips as a military family. Our biggest was driving from Florida to Alaska when we got stationed (Coast Guard Aviation) on Kodiak island. Our girls were 10 and 4 @ the time (now 35 and 29) and we took almost a full month to get there, tent camping the entire way. It was the best trip of our lives. I so miss those days, more than any other time in my life.

I love 💕 this video. I never once thought you were talking too much. I just so enjoyed watching you and Jack hanging out with Ozzie and your brother, and then your whole family. So cute seeing Jack camping overnight in his very first tent! The cabin your grampa built from scratch with such craftsmanship was absolutely amazing! Jack has grown up Soo much the past year and was such a little trouper. Just game and up for anything. You guys made it fun for them too though with lots of little fun pitstops and good food! I feel badly for Sarah not being able to go on this road trip with you guys and just home with Sunny. I'm sure she missed you both so much...hopefully a year from now, the whole family can go. But, what a great father son road trip you guys had and getting to share those moments with your brother at your side too. Then sharing your treasured moments with Jack as your best buddy by your side. He will learn to appreciate those things too by your example! You all are so great! Unsolicited advice from old lady: it’s recommended not to tell kids that death is sleep, because it can cause fear of sleep. Having been around a lot of terminally I’ll & their families, I think honesty is best. I agree completely. My sister used to say this and her daughter would wake up screaming and refused to sleep. It was a complete nightmare. Kids are resilient and can handle more than we give them credit for. Please tell him the truth but in a kid oriented approach.
