That's the only thing that bothers me about this map, about all the maps, the debris not being destructible, I wish to remove that stuff to make the ruins into a fresh new base, it's what I've done on Ragnarok with the ruined building near the desert castle, because thankfully the piles of rubble can be harvested and removed on that map

Idk if this is gonna help, but if you want a nice base location that isn’t a ruin or a castle, I recommend lat 28, long 29. It’s a nice, fairly flat build location with a big pond/waterfall as a water source.

@@joshmaag2457 they’re also near the redwoods, the place I found to be great is Borak Meadows. There should be a couple lakes there and they tend to spawn frequently along with Eden Equus. But Sarco spawn like crazy there too, apart from that it is safe ^^

Cool little bit of historical information, in case you want it: You are living in the gatehouse to the inner bailey of the castle. It is, in fact, where the Lord would live, so it isn't really surprising that the walls are untouched. Iiiiif you're wondering about stuff you could build there, you wouldn't go wrong with a big keep. :D

I have built in the houses, you can renovate most of them to a useful house and live in them. Just align the foundations with the walls and then make sure to align with the door. After that you can lower them with the pillar trick and start building the rest.

Syntac behind your new base there is waterfall if you go through it you’ll find good amount of metal and crystal in small cave. Also if you use a horse on those orange mushrooms you only get rare mushrooms but tons of it. Great series btw

castles used to be built using those crane machines different sizes you get 1 or 2 people in the wheel and you use it to lift heavy objects

My tribe and I actually built our base in the castle courtyard, we cleared it out and then proceeded to build, once we had a few buildings down we placed heavy turrets at certain spots to cover anything spawning in. We also placed duel metal gates at the only land entrance into the courtyard and are now gtg. The good thing about building at this castle is that it's pretty much central to everything of any importance.

Single player - I use a role play mod that adds waypoints and I’ll generally set those in a clear path through trees, and “Dino Hop” my way over. There is way more than the Tarzan Swing, that a Dino can do. Have fun discovering all the tricks. ;}

23:15 there's one of the best spots for pve bases right there behind the violet drop. You have your own big lake with lots of black pearls, its safe, its central, next to snow, lava and redwood biome, and you have to big kinda flat cliffs with a cascade in between that is just awesome. You need to try it!

For the large entrance gate, put a gate on both openings and maybe you can lure medium dinos into the space to tame. If anything it's double protection. Just a thought but I know that's a lot of resources. I love the Redwoods Castle though. My little one and I explored it and he loved it.

I would use behemoth gates to fix the broken wall and use it as Dino storage and maybe use some of the buildings as small dino breeding areas for Dino's like the sinomacrops and store extra ones in some of the rooms

It would take forever but you could use fence supports to build walls around the damaged buildings. Basically building over top of them to make them LOOK fixed by covering them with the game's building pieces. Would take for fricken ever though and a ton of resources. Prolly not worth it XD

A moschops has to be one of the most op things you can get. Once you get the right stats they can do a lot of damage

So that area where the wall was torn down actually lines up really well. I have a private server that a few people play on, and we managed to patch it up really well on the first try. We got super lucky when lining it up. You can't clean up the stuff inside the buildings but someone on the server managed to patch up the walls and ceiling on the tavern really well and it looks pretty good now. The main issue we are having is finding a clean way to stop spawns inside the walls.

This is where I set up my base. I have my tames in the fully enclosed side, and some carnos on aggressive wander on the broken side. I fixed the wall, too. Great spot for a zoo.

Ok so for the crane; Yes, they would have a person or people inside the wheel to operate it. Cranes like that were even used to build cathedrals. Often when working higher up, they would hire blind people, because they wouldn't see how high up they were, and wouldn't freak out. History is crazy,

To that old fashioned construction crane: yes. People would go into that wheel and move about so as to have it lift up heavy construction materials like stone and wood logs. It even gets crazy dangerous when those things are set high up. In fact, back in the days that was one of the only jobs that blind people would do because they wouldn`t be able to see how high up above the ground they were. You know... one of those medieval thankless jobs.

I like having a base at the Castle in the center but it took me some time to lower the floor in one of the larger rooms to set up a base. Would be nice if we could repair the buildings and use them. Also, a lot of dinos won't aggro while you're on the big monkeys

Northeast of the castle is a small lake snowowls spawn on the lake shore and in the lake there is black pearls easily accessible.

If you look at the waterfall by the castle you choose to live in if you look straight out the broken wall you will see a small cave that is behind the waterfall that has crystal and tons of metal…..also fun fact those bones in there can get you salt…..if you ever need any. It looks cool but just a lil small I actually moved there as well doing a solo play through and just checked it out myself probably the same day you did since I moved there the day before your video dropped

Sealed up the broken wall and had planned on fixing up the smaller village but came to the same conclusion as you… just not doable since the rubble can’t be cleared. Story-time from my play through: Day 1 I played for like 5 or 6 hours straight and I was stationed in the tower as were u, I took my first trip to the snow biome with nothing but a sinomacrops named Cookie, full fur armor, and a gun in my last hour of the day, and when I went there I had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of WYVERNS being on this map. So I traveled there with the only intention is to find a managarmr and lead it into a honestly horrible trap for me to supposedly tame it. I saw a ditch on my way back because I didn’t find a good enough level for my tame. I looked an inch down the ditch and saw 3 ice wyverns fighting like a million argies. I saw the egg and I so happen to weigh as light as a feather so my gliding was almost if not as fast as the wyverns as the highest level was 44 and wasn’t really all that fast so I floated down to the egg, grabbed it, and ran. I took a bit of damage on my way up but when I got out, two of them got stuck on crystals and the edges of the ditch. Only one followed and it was the level 44, which I outran pretty quickly. And just like that, I had an ice wyvern on the longest Day 1 I’ve ever had... 😂

Last night, the admins of a server on xbox were yelling at a dude who took over this castle that he wasn't allowed to use it as a base. The dude kept yelling he didn't care, and that he would only move if they gave him 2 Rock Drakes of opposite gender. Needless to say, a few players from different tribes took their flying tames and met at the castle to watch them argue.

Structures± (or SuperStructures) and Dino Storage Mod are both good quality-of-life mods. Maybe a stack mod for convenience. Also, you'll probably want to boost resource gathering, tame rates, and maybe breeding/maturation rates since official rates are horribly grindy.

I have my base inside "Carno Castle" I put up a behemoth gate to block that entrance then just started building all my ground tames I let wander around on aggressive and they keep the wild dinos out

That is a treadwheel crane. They use to put blind people in them to operate it. The reason being, or belief for the reason, was that the blind would not get unnerved by the sheer drop below them As these cranes would be used to help construct towers and walls. There is a show call, worst jobs in history that has a segment about it.

Oh I'm sure you picked great spot, couse I chose that same building yesterday XD Place the large gate in that prefab gate and you're bacially only have to worry about new spawns inside that courtyard... On my SP I have a pack of monkeys on wonder and they are perfect guards. Edit: Ok, I wrote this like 20sec before you thought about that gate xD but still I think it would fit better on the other side(with that bridge)

Tbh I don't think you should have built in the castle. It is the best way to tame dinopithecus as you can stand in the wall and they can't fit through the doorframes. Plus there is almost always two packs in the castle

If you double jump with the sinomacrops it will do a quick and short burst upwards. Good for gaining altitude

People don't understand how the player marker on the map works. It covers an incredibly large area on the map (way bigger than your body) and your not at the tip of the arrow (like common sense would tell you). Your more like directly in the middle of the arrow marker. Since the arrow marker is so large it is deceiving on where the direct middle of the marker is. So you kind of have to guess. But you are not at the tip of the arrow. I think they have it set up like that so the arrow on the map doesn't nullify the fact that if you want accuracy you still have to craft a gps.

You didn’t even noticed your behemoth gate snapped right into place. Actually there are snap points for them. After placing the gates, you can place down fence foundations in between of the gate posts and with that being said it should be self explanatory that you can align everything perfectly at theese two gate buildings.

@@Syntac actually they do "snap" into place if you place them close enough,. i have even tried to place the gates a bit out of center or a bit rotated but it always ends up on the same spot and in the same direction, this cant be random. all 4 gates are perfectly alligned. so i asume maybe the gate does take place like this becuase it got alligned by the castles walls or there are some weak snap points left from constructing it in the dev kit. Btw, i saw you using a potion once in your videos wich toggles damage count. what is the name of this mod? would be super handy for the boss fights, i am having so much lag because of this dps numbers on the screen when fighting pikkons revenge
