I got Romantic "Romantics are full of good ideas. These ideas might be either positional or attacking, but they are always unusual and unique. The Romantic doesn't usually win by out-calculating his opponent, but rather finds some unexpected and unusual concept that his opponent didn't expect. Romantic players are very emotional and therefore can be very distraught when they lose, but their moodiness also means that when things are going well, they can be unstoppably brilliant." Also, recommend the Ruy Lopez and Sicilian Defense.

I am still a beginer at chess. I am learning more all the time but took the test for fun before watching. I got the prodigy personality. I favored the material advantage for black in that one question. Most of my answers were thinking more intuitively instead of calculating, and to always play for a win in any position. I also said I like gambits, but I dont play them often. But I like the idea of early sacrifices. I said to take on g5, obviously with knight. The kingside I think becomes vulnerable and maybe is slow to find counterattack possibly. I think a prodigy may be someone who is always learning with beginers mindset, even in mastery, possibly this is how they stay sharp.
@RemyWillard3 жыл бұрын
I got Barbarian, but I feel like a few other results would have been better. Attacking was strongly favored over Positional, Aggressive was slightly favored over Solid, Intuitive was favored over Calculating, and Emotional was slightly favored over Calm. Aggressive/Solid and Emotional/Calm were both close the middle, but Intuitive was favored by a wide enough margin to where Magician would have been the best fit. I could also see myself as more of a Natural (Attacking/Solid/Intuitive/Calm), Prodigy (Attacking/Aggressive/Intuitive/Calm), or Romantic (Attacking/Solid/Intuitive/Emotional), but it's not like Barbarian is a "bad" result for a test like this. At least I didn't get Professional (Positional/Solid/Calculating/Calm), since that would have been the exact opposite of where my bars aligned. XD

Grinder: Grinders are players with an unassuming style that can hide just how intent they are on winning. They don’t need to know opening theory to beat you. They don’t need to have an advantage to beat you. They don’t even need to have an equal position to beat you. Grinders have good positional skills, and are usually most at home in endgames. They are attuned to their opponents’ weaknesses which they use against them. On the other hand, they often know their own strengths and limitations pretty objectively, and will make good practical decisions. It’s hard to take advantage of a Grinder’s weaknesses, and you won’t have much luck getting errors out of them by applying pressure. Anatoly Karpov is a Grinder Anatoly KarpovAnatoly Karpov (born 1951), twelfth World Champion and superb positional player, is one of the most successful Grinders of all time. Not only did he hold the world title for 10 years, but in order to prove himself after Fischer disappeared, he played in as many tournaments as he could and amassed the most impressive win total and tournament resume of any player in history. During his prime, Karpov was famous for declining draws in worse positions, confident that he would play well enough to never lose them - all while giving his opponents ample opportunity to blow the game as they got ground down by the long game and his intense will to win! I wanted to retake this test, after analyzing each position with an engine, to see which one I would really want to play and why. That may seem to destroy the point of the test, but what I realized was that any GM would analyze those positions from opening prep and decide which ones they would really prefer to play, and I think the only right way to take the test, would be to do the same.
