That was the direct cause of the Iraq war, not even counting the deaths in the war itself. So yes, the American leadership was worse than Saddam not because they were evil or something, but because they were criminally incompetent at actually leading Iraq. One day when he was on vacation in Thailand he was kidnapped. Guess who kidnapped him? China! And wanna know why they kidnapped him? Because they claimed some obscure traffic accident he had caused in China. But then they changed it to treason. And then when the Swedish embassy asked to see him they just ignored and refused. The Chinese ambassador in Sweden even threatened the Swedish government for putting their nose in what they claimed was internal Chinese affairs despite him being a SWEDISH national and they even claimed he had renounced his Swedish citizenship without the Swedish embassy having been able to meet him in private and get an confirmation. If you still sincerely believe there would be any real difference for the better in Chinese hegemony at it's current state you're in for a dire shock. I think you should not write Americans and Brits- write Bush and Blair. The British people did not want the war in Iraq. @Jimmy P , it's a problem for any nation that has had a 'dictatorship' for a long time. Basically, if there's only one autocratic leader for several decades, all the people have learned all that time is how to 'please the boss', no one really is learning how to be the next generation of leaders, and you get a bunch of ass-kissers and flatterers who despite having no leadership skills of their own, actually think highly of themselves. So when that one strong leader is gone? No one has any real idea what to do, and all they have to learn from is that one autocratic leader that just got deposed... And each aims to be the new dictator-leader. Hence you have 1000 Saddams in Iraq... Likewise in Indonesia: when Suharto's gone, Indonesia gained '1000 Suhartos'. Just as corrupt, but much less capable. It would be some time again before someone new emerges, someone who has clear idea on how to lead... And that's assuming there's no 'outside interference'. Other nations and other powers that just want a piece of the action too, (or at least, they HAVE to be there because their rivals are there, and they are not happy about it) making things way even more complicated.

America needs to stay out of other countries' business and allow the people of that country to handle their own issues. They know what's best for their own country.

Prior to international sanction its GDP per capita was $10,000 now it is $5000. 33 years after it still hasn't reached what it did back in 1990. Only a fool would say it is better now than before. Even if Saddam is bad, that is something Iraq has to deal with. It has nothing to do with the US. Just because Saddam was bad doesn't give you the right to invade a country. I kept on hearing how bad Xi Jin Ping and Kim Jong Un is, why didn't the US invade China or North Korea? @wowomah6194 Жыл бұрын
@@MrJdsenior This is so sorely mistaken. I'm going to try not to be rude but this really pisses me off. Look, you're absolutely conflating some things here. Iraq isn't worse off because Saddam is gone, Iraq was SHORT term worse off because of a MASSIVE WAR that lasted for like, IDK, 5-6 years and which turned into a HUGE bloodbath civil war between the Sunni and Shia factions who hated each other? This is far more complex than "oh no, Saddam is gone, that's why Iraq is worse". The reality is that Saddam's regime was a totalitarian regime which controlled EVERYTHING but the other problem was that it was a rotting and evil regime which was going to try and keep itself afloat no matter what the costs whether humans costs or whatever. Things had gotten very bad in Iraq even before the 2nd war because if you recall, during the 90s Saddam invaded and annexed the nation of Kuwait and the USA pushed him all the way back to Baghdad. At the time, our leadership thought we should just go ahead and take his regime out but it was decided to NOT go ahead and do that because of the bloodshed and money it would take to do. We didn't want another big war in other words, and we sorta saw it as mission accomplished after freeing Kuwait from his invading forces. So instead, we placed sanctions on his regime which crippled his economy. Iraq wasn't having a fun time at all, many people died from sanctions alone. But Iraqi people didn't try to topple him at this point. The reality is this: Iraq needed a lot of help after the war, help which the USA and its allies was giving by building police stations, schools, whatever, helping set up free elections for Iraqis to go vote and elect their leaders FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, and so forth. In my humblest of humble opinions, we were actually helping A LOT and on the right track to making Iraq stronger but President Obama made a HUGE MISTAKE and decided to pull us mostly out of Iraq in around 2010 or so I believe. This left a power vacuum in Iraq because they were not yet unified enough or strong enough to defend themselves against foreign attack. To make matters WORSE, there was a civil war going on in Syria after the "Arab Spring" started and so Syria was also in disarray enough that ISIS was more or less free to move around the border regions of Syria and Iraq. THIS is what led Iraq to being a total clusterfuck again because Obama had taken troops out of Iraq and he knew his popularity was going to absolutely DROP if he sent in more troops to Iraq and got more US soldiers killed and the Left wing in the USA also was just not going to support it because they have a fairytale view of the world anyway and act like the military is bad no matter what. However, we did end up sending more troops to help Iraq and eventually Iraq was able to liberate its territories from ISIS with A LOT of help from the Kurds who live around Erbil/Irbil in Iraq. I think if anything, it was this destruction of ISIS that actually brought Iraq a little more unity after having achieve a victory together for once. But the point I'm trying to make, the overarching purpose here is that a nation isn't built in a day. It isn't built in a year. It isn't built immediately after a war either. Nor is it even build in 10 years. The whole point of the war was to FREE Iraq first, which we did. It's now free. People are able to go and vote in free elections for the ir leaders which over time establishes more trust in the government, it lets people know and feel that they have an effect on their destinies and of that of Iraq as a whole, and over time that also leads to a tradition and desire to protect that freedom through investment in it. Over time, no matter how bad the 2nd war with Iraq was and how it totally dismantled Saddam's regime, Iraq will become freer, more prosperous, safer, and if they work hard together MORE unified and hopefully able to put aside any religious/tribal differences and see each other as Iraqis and humans first. But that takes TIME. This is the one thing too many are forgetting. You can't hold onto an infected wound with infection all over the bandage and expect that after you rip off the bandage (because it won't come off any other way) that somehow there will not be a long healing process.

They did a similar thing in our country Yugoslavia. Media, controlled by the elite (Europe and USA, who tried to demolish us, for we were getting to strong), was deliberatelly washing brains of people to hate eachother. And so the war started in a country with zero to no criminals, where everyone had a job, a home and food, and Yugoslavia became history, replaced by small, poor countries with no future. Our leader Tito died before all of that. But I have no doubt that if he haven't, America would found some weapons of mass destruction in our country, and rushed to "save" us from the "evil" regime.

One day the Serbs came and killed an old man in this village at night.. After that I started firing at attackers and only 2 soldiers of my unit supported me.. Then they started to bother us because we shot at Christians to help Muslims.. I came home knowing I didn't do my job well.. I spoke to my wife.. Got depressed and she left me.. Said (you are are no longer American and no longer Christian) I don't know how honest he is.. Just met him online and he spoke with great detail about his experiences even offered to keep contact with me but I rejected. I spoke to guy from Serbia.. He only blame others.. He see all Kosovo Albanian even American and Saudi must be killed.. He blame everybody.. He told me stories about how they fought armies of the world.. And he was patriotic.. What am trying to say is... Sometimes in divorce it's not wife's fault.. Or man's fault.. Its both at the same time.. We should listen to others we should know what others want and why they want it.. At the same time make it clear what we want.. And why we want it.. There should be always a middle ground we can stand on.. If not.. then divorce peacefully.

But I have to agree in Kosovo people during Yougoslavia had a better life , not any ethnic issues and were free to travel the world now it's backwards but yet it's the USA who have saved this soil and these people from getting wiped out from this world we are thankfull, not every story you see here it's true I think USA did some good jobs in some countries like Kosovo.

I worked for some Iraqi businessmen back in 2006 and they told me that Saddam was a great leader. I asked them about all the killing he did and they said "you have to be that way with those kinds of people." Blew my mind and I'll never forget it. I guess they were right!

Exactly the same thing happened with my parents. In the early 80s they were posted in Libya as doctors. Libya was a peaceful, prosperous country then. Gaddafi was ruthless, but as one Libyan said, you have to be like that with these people. Then one day the brutal Americans decided they wanted to change the regime. They eliminated Gaddafi...and look where Libya is now...

What do they meant by "those kinds of people" in their statement? Aren't "those kinds of people" themselves? I will not measure words here, and will probably get some hate for it, but people with that mentality deserve whatever comes to them, be it Saddam or America. The middle east is home to many of the most religious people in the world, yet it seems to have been forgotten by God. If a group of people needs dictators like Saddam or Gadaffi to prosper, there are much deeper and serious issues at the root of their culture and civilization than what transpires through their leaders. In fact, rulers are often, if not always, a reflection of those they rule. Given enough power, this man in the video would be as bad as Saddam, if not worse! You can see it through his words.
