Yo Devin put valve grinding compound on your allen head sockets and 99 times out of 100 won’t strip the allen head bolts. The grit in the compound fives you a lot more grip and it’ll bite instead of slipping. Works on all sizes (including cam gear allen bolts)

Tip on the allen’s that strip on ya, use the straight shanked ones for breaking lose and TQ’ing down, the ball head /wobble ones have a very small surface area and are best just for low TQ requirements.

man i remember when i used to tear down my wrx motor back in the days, i used to have a 02 wrx with a hybrid block 2.5l with 2.0 heads, mated with a 07 sti transmission, wiseco pistons with eagle rods, these engines are actually pretty easy to work on

Ball Allen wrenches are not the way to go for tight fastners

Those allens and phillips (or JIS, unsure) - always give them a couple love taps with a hammer before trying to loosen. It shocks them and helps them break the tension and come loose easier.

I wonder how the bores are on e85 cars sitting in garages over an extended period of time. That fuel attracts a lot of moisture. Probably good reminder to drive your car at least once a week, put a fresh film of oil on the bore and burn off any accumalted moisture.

That comes from low oil in the cylinder so make sure to shim your oil pump and port it 18:13

The 5 speed on the WRX, yes. The STI's have a 6 speed that is good for all the powa (that a boxer can make at least. Throw a honda engine at it and it would explode XD)

STI 6-mt is stout, this car has a unique transmission. 07 limiteds got the oil pump with the long ratios. It also has factory carbon lined 4/5/6 synchros. It's going to be reliable for a long time

Facts. The 6 mt is solid. The 5 mt can fail if you look at it wrong. Some of the jdm gear sets are pretty good
