Great price for the MT09SP, the dealer here in Memphis TN is asking $11299 for a 2023 MT09SP, and $8999 for a used 2023 MT09 with 350 miles on it.

Gotta ask what they will take. My dealer had the 23 sp on sale but it was still about 13k out the door. I asked if they would take 11.5k out the door and they agreed to 11.6k total. I sprinted to the dealership 😂

@@PtchersWR Dealer fees be crazy. Paid pretty much the same OTD for my XSR900 on January but that did include their whole addon package with extended warranty, services and what not. Even without that though, with my traded in R3 for $3500 it would have been right above MSRP after fees and tax.

Sorry to hear about the crashes. Luckily y'all are good still. As sad as it is bikes can be replaced. As a Naked bike owner myself I do think they're awesome and versatile bikes. I think with the SP you made the better choice. Since the suspension and brakes if I recall correct are a tad bit better then a regular MT09 from the same year. So yeah congrats on the new bike and enjoy!

If you live this gen 3 you'll definitely love the new Gen 4, handle bars are where its supposed to be and the rider position is a little more sporty than the very up right Gen 3

I have a 2019 R6 that I traded my 2003 R6 for (and a big wad of cash lol). The MT09SP is the bike I almost bought and it is 100% the next bike I'm getting. Probably in a year at this rate, I didn't expect the 2019 R6 to be this much more uncomfortable than a 2003 😂

Best street bike hands down! Im basing this opinion on my long experience with my 2 years riding. And the wide variety of bikes ive tried (mt07 and 21 09sp)😅 Nah, but been a die hard yamaha fanboy since i was like 10 years old. Supersport was my dream, but for theese shitty ass roads we got, does not make any sense. So, the mt 09 with all the electronics, the nice price, reliability and the sound makes it a fantastic street bike!

Last year I got a brand new z900 over MT-09 ($12K pluss) , I got if for $10,000 including the tax and other fees and I'm loving it already at 3800 miles after 8 months. Next I'm Planning to get an ECU flash by 2 wheel dyno.

@adobomoto great choice for the sp and if youll adjust the suspension right for you and the bars it would be a lot more stable at high speeds... i had the 2nd generation after adjustong the suspension its like 2 different bikes

if you have the opportunity, try KTM 890SMT .. I loved my MT09SP 2021, I rode zx10r 2018 after (and currently) but 890smt blown me the F away! True, it could do with an extra 20-30hp but other than that it's an amazing bike!

2020 z900 owner here, most people prefer the mt09 over the z even though the z has more top end more range fuel wise and imo waaaaay better looking than the Yamaha. I do hope kawasaki gives it a refresh very soon though

People like the MT07 and MT09 better than the Kawasakis counters is simply because they get more attention on youtube. The Z900 and Z650 are both better than the Yamahas in nearly every respect including having a lower center of gravity and better wind protection. There are just more videos of the Yamahas so they get more attention.

MTs look soulless to me. I think they're so popular because pretty much anyone can ride it. So many gadgets and rider aides, you're not even riding the bike. The z900 looks the best imo and it's just pure motorcycle. They should have named the MT TW (training wheels). Only thing I like is the crossplane sound.

The out the door price without me putting anything down was a few thousand less than the actual MSRP. My 2023 MT-09 had full Yoshi, intake mod, filter, and Vcyclenut Ecu flash. Still doesn’t compare to the ludicrous MT-10 SP in stock.
