Janja is a huge inspiration of mine. Beyond the one arm pull ups 🤯 and out-of-this-world functionality, she's been so huge for women in the world of rock climbing showing us that anything is possible if you believe in yourself! She was also v graceful about me falling off the wall and embarrassing myself 😂 I hope you'll show her a lot of love!

Janja is a generational talent not just in climbing, but in sports in general. Her level of dominance in competitions is akin to a Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt. I wish her achievements received the same level of media attention those names did! She certainly deserves it.
@millacabral94758 ай бұрын
I think once she wins the Paris Olympics (when, not if, definitely hahaha) she'll get a lot more mainstream media attention. Climbing is just still a somewhat niche sport, but getting to the Olympics has been a huge step in terms of international recognition and hopefully funding as well. Janja is the undisputed GOAT for sure, I remember seeing a "Legends Only" competition with her, in 2017 I think, where she cruised through all the boulders that these 4 other amazing female climbers couldn't do. She topped all 4-5 boulders whereas second place (the incredible Shauna Coxsey) only managed 2 or 3 tops. She was 16 years old then and I had never heard of her before. That was only the beginning of her ridiculous dominance and winning everything ahaha. Such a graceful climber too, it's not just pure power, she is incredibly coordinated (on the wall at least, I've heard she tends to trip a lot in real life XD) and can read routes super well, that's why she often climbs semi-final and final boulders on her first try.

@@millacabral9475 The number of women interested in climbing seems to have already gotten a big boost after Tokyo, at least that's my impression just going by the number of women I see at the gym I go to regularly. I've been bouldering for about 7 or 8 months now, and honestly, everyone in this sport is super supportive. I can be on the wall by myself, and random people, who might see I'm struggling, will cheer me on, or give out tips. I've had impromptu training sessions with higher level climbers, just because I talked to them a bit, and they offered to show me some moves or whatever. It's such an ego less sport, it's very refreshing!

WWWWOOOWWW !! That is absolutely some of the most impressive athleticism I have ever seen. Watching her just scramble up those climbs so explosively whilst making it look like the most natural thing in the world to be doing …. I dunno, maybe it’s because I have deplorable upper body strength that it makes me feel breathless just watching her. Watching you take on these challenges reinforces how efficacious your own approach to training is. We have yet to see one of these challenges/training sessions where you are, like, totally out of your depth. You’re so well rounded and functionally strong and agile. So fun to watch the two of you. Clearly kindred spirits 😊. Well done!!! Also, the quality of the production of the video …. *chef’s kiss*

Janja is probably the most most impressive comp climber to watch. I have improved my climbing by watching her technique.

I watched this video when it first came out and have been following the women's climbing ever since. I find it fascinating watching Janja as well as the other amazing climbers like Seo, Brooke, Natalia and so many others. My partner and I have also taken up bouldering as a result and love it. It's so much harder than it looks (and it looks hard) you really gain an immense appreciation of these climbers and what they put themselves through to be good enough for the world stage.

I surprised myself by becoming VERY tearful after you finished the red route, and the coach commented on your focus!! What a beautiful, encouraging team!!
