@@commanderofkesariyaknights Couldn’t agree more. It’s a real travesty to see that they’ve added an event combining physical strength and stamina with dedication and determination to the Olympic Games, which famously involve none of the above. How can it even be considered a sport if it’s not on a track or a field amirite? And might I add that you’ve contributed some very relevant and timely racial commentary about white men to a discussion of a women’s competition featuring a two-thirds non-white podium. I honestly don't particularly enjoy watching her, especially lately. She always goes for the quickest, most obvious beta, which she can afford to do because she's strong, but doesn't necessarily make it interesting to watch. It's only because she's the best and the strongest that that beta suits her. You've been defeated by your own 'logic' there. I also can't understand how you can watch her climb and not enjoy it. Janja explains it the best why she's the best: "Talent is not enough. You must be a hard worker." Talent, climbing sense, flexibility, those you can be born with. The power and endurance Janja has, those don't come easy. I still remember watching her debut lead comp against Kim Jain, thinking "there's no way this girl can go at the pace she's going with the kind of power output on a lead route". But she did. There's no reason to believe some random comment on KZbin, but if someone really wants to identify Janja's weakness, it's that her efficiency and calmness on a lead route is still behind that of Kim Jain. Every fraction of a percentage of energy used matters on a lead route, cause that fraction of a percent could be the difference between topping out and falling off the penultimate hold.
