And they wanted to go to bed so we had to make it as fast as we could. It winded up okay. But you can tell we didnt put a ton of effort into it. That was 4 minutes. Interesting my friend had plans to do a short film with a similar plot. Where the devil supposedly possesses a man but through will power the man traps the devil inside of him and the rest of the movie is the devil trying to convince him to commit a vicious murder for the greater good. They philosophy on what is truly good and evil and we are left wondering if the devil is really trapped inside him or if he’s just crazy.

B P I honestly felt pretty much the same way that Chris did. The movie had a really really good sense of dread throughout, even though it could be slow at times. I thought some of the acting at times wasn’t super great, but was serviceable. I did think the ending was ultimately pretty satisfying, but the movie does juuuuust barely give you enough exposition and lore to get by and I could’ve used just a tiiiiny bit more, personally. Overall not amazing but still worth a watch, and I definitely feel like the director has the potential to do some cool things in the future.

I just watched this movie and agree with your feedback completely! It's the performance of Scott Poythress, the musical score, the dark atmosphere, and the overall sense of dread and suspense that makes this movie work! The only thing I find disappointing is that it was obviously rushed. I think that had they enough time to really flesh out the plot and dialogue, this could have been so much better. Unless I missed something, I'm still unsure as to how the devil was initially trapped by Steve?? I'm also a little lost as to who were in the tv and what it had to do with the characters? I am assuming it was Steve's wife or something? Anyone able to clue me in? Good review Chris!!

I’m glad you review movies like this and support smaller projects. It’s where we get all these new types of films and storylines. I think smaller projects can be the best because they can’t rely on throwing money at a problem. They can’t use cgi so they have to do the heavy lifting with story, character, ingenuity in set design, and cinematography

Really liked the concept, was hoping they touched on the devil himself a tad more while still leaving something for the imagination.

Chris would love to know what your top 10 years indie horror films are ?? By the way this film was pretty good, it gave me a suspiria 2019 vibe , the way it was filmed in some scenes

In Austin TX there is a film festival that gives you 48 hours to create a short. They give you a genre and then you run out and make something. Then they show it and there are awards given out. Sometimes it complete crap and sometimes it's phenomenal.

I just want to thank you for this review. I watched the movie with a close friend. It was so amazing! The suspense was perfectly brewed, I loved the lighting and the main character was a superb actor. I ADORED the ending and this by far was the best horror movie I've seen this year. I was so disappointed in 'US' and 'Pet Semetary'. I've rented and bought this movie twice because I want to help support it. Please post a link if they are selling any merch for this flick!

@@emilengen7825 I mean someone's first credit has to be something. This was insanely low budget and sounds like he got pushed around by the producers a bit with the schedule stuff. Sounds like a classic first time director situation.

This film is more along the boundaries of a psychological thriller with some horror thrown in. Film plays more into the characters relationships and digs into your thoughts. It makes you question your judgement over the fear of the unknown. If you’ve read the Bible about Cain and Abel, as well as Adam and Eve and being tempted by devil which shows plenty of parallels to those two stories. The most horror shows up toward the climax. Ending and climax are pretty simultaneous, which puts you on edge in the 2nd-3rd act. Since this was filmed in 9 days, I really had no idea what to expect but this is one of the very few current horror films that delivered everything to make this movie satisfying and disturbing. If you like the movie “the witch” it is very much like that in terms of “slow burning” but shakes you and pulls you in the last 30 minutes. There usually aren’t too many greatly executed horror films within the last 10-15 years, but this movie has earned its stripes. Since I’m a horror buff, I’d give this film a solid 8.0/10.

I absolutely LOVED this film. It didn't need a big budget for this creation. It was one of the best thriller films Ive seen in a very long time. That ending WAS AMAZING. I'd of happily watched this in a cinema and been satisfied. Genius idea as well. I think everyone should watch this movie. 👍👍❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
