B P I honestly felt pretty much the same way that Chris did. The movie had a really really good sense of dread throughout, even though it could be slow at times. I thought some of the acting at times wasn’t super great, but was serviceable. I did think the ending was ultimately pretty satisfying, but the movie does juuuuust barely give you enough exposition and lore to get by and I could’ve used just a tiiiiny bit more, personally. Overall not amazing but still worth a watch, and I definitely feel like the director has the potential to do some cool things in the future.

I just watched this movie and agree with your feedback completely! It's the performance of Scott Poythress, the musical score, the dark atmosphere, and the overall sense of dread and suspense that makes this movie work! The only thing I find disappointing is that it was obviously rushed. I think that had they enough time to really flesh out the plot and dialogue, this could have been so much better. Unless I missed something, I'm still unsure as to how the devil was initially trapped by Steve?? I'm also a little lost as to who were in the tv and what it had to do with the characters? I am assuming it was Steve's wife or something? Anyone able to clue me in? Good review Chris!!

This film is more along the boundaries of a psychological thriller with some horror thrown in. Film plays more into the characters relationships and digs into your thoughts. It makes you question your judgement over the fear of the unknown. If you’ve read the Bible about Cain and Abel, as well as Adam and Eve and being tempted by devil which shows plenty of parallels to those two stories. The most horror shows up toward the climax. Ending and climax are pretty simultaneous, which puts you on edge in the 2nd-3rd act. Since this was filmed in 9 days, I really had no idea what to expect but this is one of the very few current horror films that delivered everything to make this movie satisfying and disturbing. If you like the movie “the witch” it is very much like that in terms of “slow burning” but shakes you and pulls you in the last 30 minutes. There usually aren’t too many greatly executed horror films within the last 10-15 years, but this movie has earned its stripes. Since I’m a horror buff, I’d give this film a solid 8.0/10.

The way you describe it, it sounds like something along the lines of House of the Devil or A Dark Song (to use recent examples). I loved both of those, would you say that's a good sign for going to see this?

I was at the Q&A for this movie last week in NYC at IFC. I sat in between both the main cast and director. I also recorded the Q&A. I’ll post that video very soon.

I absolutely LOVED this film. It didn't need a big budget for this creation. It was one of the best thriller films Ive seen in a very long time. That ending WAS AMAZING. I'd of happily watched this in a cinema and been satisfied. Genius idea as well. I think everyone should watch this movie. 👍👍❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧
