Just adding to one of your comments - I’m 40something, non-smoking, single and have a remote job that is known to be responsible and requires up to date security clearance and I have the opposite of your experience at 19 in that I get offers I haven’t applied to with only a couple of reviews. So definitely demographics and what the sitter puts in their listing and message to the pet owners makes a big difference! As always thank you for these - they definitely help me in getting courage and planning together to do this full time too as it’s amazing! Especially as you’ve also mentioned doing this with a chronic illness so it’s lovely to see the example that the balance is manageable as that’s my last worry! 😊

Very interesting perspective! And completely makes sense, we started at very different life points, and I remember when I started getting a bit older and had a responsible remote job in my profile on top of the reviews, I started getting offers for house sits I didn’t even apply for either. And I’m glad this video helps you get more courage to start doing this full time, I hope it all works out for you!

@@lifeofdanie thank you for the encouragement! I’m sure all your 5 star reviews help alongside the different perceptions of what kind of sitter you are based on your new life point 😀 I am finding how people choose and respond to sitters quite interesting tbh!

Good video. I think it makes sense for people who don’t require a fixed site for work. Students on holiday from school would probably also find housesitting rewarding. Sadly, I still have many years left to go before retirement. Otherwise, it would be a great way to get accommodations while traveling.

Being location independent definitely makes this lifestyle easier, I won’t lie!
