I Traveled to the Northernmost City in the World (Svalbard)

A place with complete darkness for 24 hours a day, more polar bears than people, and right next to the north pole. Svalbard has always fascinated me, but it is not going to be easy to get there...

Many years ago I took a visit to Finland. I made the mistake of travelling in September and it seems that most everything tourist-related closes down on the 31st August. Still found plenty of stuff to do, especially in the stunning scenery around the villa I'd rented in the Savonlinna area, nearer to the border with Russia. I also got pewped on by a seagull at Helsinki docks, although a Finnish friend assured me that it must have been a Swedish seagull since a Finnish seagull would never do something so offensive. 😆
