A group in our city was also formed recently, seeking out spanish learners in Naga City, Camarines Sur (formerly Nueva Caceres). I'm really happy Spanish is making a comeback somehow. I hope our group would eventually grow as Naga was one of the spanish royal cities before

Sana i continue to promote the Spanish language sa Spanish speaking or Chavacano language dyan sa Cavite and Zambianga n other parts of the Philippines like Iloilo, Bacolod, Lipa city etc...sana rin magtayo ng branches ng Instituto Cervantes sa mga lugar na ito, magtatag ng Spanish newspaper or tabloid like El Debate before, etc...

As a foreigner in the Philippines I am also learning Spanish. I started learning Tagalog and Waray-Waray first, but these are very difficult languages for people who grew up speaking European languages. Both languages contain a lot of Spanish, so I decided to learn Spanish as well, since that language is much easier for me to learn. I could already speak Dutch and English and a little bit of French and German. I use Duolingo mostly. I am also trying to improve my French and German. I completed the Tagalog to English course on Duolingo. I also use Language Transfer for Spanish, French and German. I will learn Tagalog and Waray-Waray at some point, it might just take me a few decades.

​@@ChavacanoZamboangueño Maybe one day I will make a trip there, just to practice. A problem is that my government considers the whole island of Mindanao unsafe. That means that if anything happens my health insurance might not cover it. Many travel insurance companies won't cover. And my government embassy does not offer on-site consular support. I do want to learn normal Spanish though. I've been to Spain several times and might go back there some day. Or visit Latin America. I have a sister-in-law in California, not far from the Mexican border I might visit.
