@@curryhurrys: true, but there are so many labeled spots on each map that's still a lot more catches than a typical nuzlock. Especially in contrast to just how few mandatory battles are in this game. Kinda feel like to make a nuzlock in PLA any kind of challenge at all, it would maybe also need to be restricted to in battle catches only. That way there's more risk to the player's Pokémo, and also a chance to miss catches with accidental KOs.

Also eevee becomes easy to get once distortions start appearing and the eeveelotutions. I have caught eevee, flareon, sylveon and umbreon. Taking the game slow af to milk it. This game really takes into account type match ups. You can't just get 20 levels ahead and steam roll it.

If I could pick the 3 starters, it would be Snivy, Froakie, and Cyndaquil. The runner-ups are Turtwig, Totodile, and Charmander, while the 3rd place trio goes to Rowlet, Mudkip, and Chimchar. (I know gen 8 has no representation among these, but Grookey and Scorbunny are still awesome and would for sure be the next picks if they weren't from the same region.)

I think it's genuinely impossible to Nuzlocke this thing because of how catching Pokemon is what helps you progress, and it's more difficult to increase your Pokedex and rank if you're only catching one Pokemon per area

I think that's why he said " I can only use one per area." You can catch as much as you want, but can only use one extra apart from the starter, like only Shinx from Aspiration Hill, only Ponyta from Horseshoe Hills and so on.

This is what a modern pokemon game should be. No primitive sprites or models throwing effects vaguely in the direction of their opponent, no random camera angle changes, no transitions between overworld and battle, and no strict 1:1 turn-based battles. This is the first game in the series to truly take advantage of modern console hardware and give this franchise the gameplay it has been desperately wanting for years. I didn't expect the BotW engine to handle pokemon so well, but it does.

The three starters the game chose are actually my three favorite starters from their home generations so I don't think I would change it. If I had too I'd go with Chikorita, Squirtle, Litten. Not necessarily because I like those 3 more than others but because I think their final evoltuions would have cool Hisuian forms. If the starters didn't get Hisui forms tho than I would change my pick to Treeko, Froakie and Chimchar.

Ok so…this is just so you are aware because I’m fairly sure you want that alpha lopunny. It’s over in that area to the right past the dam. Just follow the beach until close to where it ends. Watch out for all the combee. If the berry tree wiggles it might either have a combee in that area of the cherubi (rare I think?). You will hear the Lopunny before you see it. Be aware that it’s lvld in the 30’s (forgot the exact). It has giga impact and knows fairy moves. I had to use lvl 40 Pokémon to take it down, even with proper type match ups. Another thing, if you want to get past worn bridge you have to go through the cave all the way to the end and smash the opening. Any Pokémon will do, it doesn’t need rock smash. This area also has the alpha heracross to be aware. It’s really bulky. Also I think there is another alpha there? But I don’t think it’s as bulky. Rapidash and heracross are major ones though and are lvl 40. Do not attempt without a good plan for them. Kleavor does not need you to be lvl 40 but take something that can one shot it during the battle portions of the boss battle. You should be fine if your chosen mon is in the 30’s. Recommend mid 30’s though.

it's not about the normal battle. if you are doing "if the protagonist dies, the nuzlocke is over" then the boss battle is going to be 90% your end.

Here is a fun idea for the nuzlocke rules, if you catch a Pokémon inside a time distortion zone, you can use it, but only 1 per zone (just try not to lose any Pokémon or yourself in the process)

I got it when it came out yesterday and I absolutely love it it looks stunning though I do agree that the textures are a little lacking other than that it looks absolutely gorgeous. I only done six of the main story missions but I played this game for almost 7 hours and barely progressed the story I was just so enamored and taken aback by the wide open exploring environment that I just kind of walked around caught and fought stuff for like 6 hours it's so fun I'm excited to progress the story but at the same time I just kind of want to enjoy the open environment and all the cute Pokemon running around
