No one in the U.S. uses a 24 hour clock, like ever and if you've lived in the states your whole life you're probably never going to need to convert the time. Sure we can figure it out if we think about it but it's not an automatic conversion like if I were to look at a digital clock and it said 20:00 I would have to think about it in order for me to realize what time it was

In the medical field you do. There are (or atleast in my high school) health classes such as Health Team Relations, Health Science 1, and Health Science 2. Of which I’m taking 1 and 2 right now. We learned military time and the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius in HTR.

Someone who knows more about this than I do. Please chime in. Aren't there alarm clocks for people who are deaf and hard of hearing that vibrate a pillow or the mattress? That might've worked without making her feel like she was using a vibrator first thing in the morning.

Yeah, they do. My roommate last year is a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and she's told me that her dad (who is deaf) used a vibrating mattress alarm when he was in college.

Usually said alarms go off really really really loud (most deaf people hear something if its a certain level of volume and up) and come with this cube that you attach to the clock via a wire and just put the cube somewhere on your bed, which then starts rapidly vibrating

Tea B there are! The sonic bomb! Ive used one! They have beed vibrators that go under matress and the alarms are usually are around 102 decibels some come with flashing lights. This is what hearing impared people/ people with 50% hearing loss. Or tired sleep deprived teenagers like i was when i had mine. Woke me up in panic mode every morning until i got use to it. Then i would sleep riiight through.

She was using it as her only alarm. Some people have trouble waking up or staying awake in the morning, doesn’t mean they aren’t committed to anything. She probably has trouble waking up on weekends as well.

Eve Prentice American set ones aren’t. It’s set by region. I’m in Canada where we don’t use 24 hour time usually but since most of our stuff is imported from places that do we are all taught it and use it enough to remember it. In the us they don’t bother unless they are in the military.
